net send is only applicable if the "message service" for each workstation is started.. otherwise it won't work.

you can try installing IP Messenger (IP Messenger) or any LAN chat client sa tanan laptop naka connect sa access point para ka maka-broadcast. (hehehe, but it doesn't answer your question though, nga nangita ka ug command nga ma-type sa CLI).

mao ni ang syntax sa net send bro
    net send computername/domain message

    net send 192.168.1.1 Hello world

but be sure lang nga ang messenger services kay nag start both computers kay by default sa windows xp naka disabled na.

ways on how to enable net send command on windows xp
    1.click start
    2. then click run, then type control,
    3. in the control panel look for the Administrative tools
4.Then double click the administrative tools, then look for services
    5. in the services panel look for messenger, then double click, then change the startup type from disabled to automatic then click apply then click start, once it is started click ok.

then there you go you are now ready to use the net send service.
