have you visited all tourist spots near your place? like chocolate hills, have all the boholanos physically seen the chocolate hills? i think we better be familiar with our place first than foreigners right? basin wala pa mo kakita sa magellans cross which is world renowned. adto naaa hehe

My friend and I plan to visit all the scenic spots in the country before we go out and explore the other nations. Of course, we have to save up for it. Hehe.

i believe the main reason why we are "dayuhan sa sariling bayan" is our lack of financial capacity. ug ako lang, i can afford it but to a limited budget only, pero di man ko malingaw kung mag inosara lang ko ug suroy suroy sa bohol, sa camiguin, sa cdo, sa davao, boracay, dakak, manila, bagiuo...etc...? we have to be with friends, relatives...? para malingaw ta? cebu to bohol which is very near will make us shell out thousands of pesos kung gusto gyud ug lingaw. in short, kato ra gyud naay kwarta ang maka afford ug suroy aning mga lugara. kinsa man sila? mga foreigners ug katong mga pinoys who work abroad who are on vacation.

^ @ishboy, yes sakto jud ka nga kwarta ang reason kung ngano daghan natong Pilipino nahimong estranghero sa kaugalingong nasud, nga daghan Pinoy wa pa ka-tour-tour within sa Pilipinas. Example lang ha, kung gusto muadto sa mayon volcano gikan sa manila, nya mag-aeroplano aron dali ra muabot kaysa mag-bus-bus nga intawn muabot nang bus ug 12 hours or unsa ba. so manila to legaspi city na nga flight, that's probably about 3000 PHP na. then pag-abot sa legaspi city, another gastos na sad pagsakay ug sakyanan or motor padung duol sa volcano mismo. wa pay labot ang lodging and food and souvenirs, etc. hay basta, daghan gyung Pilipino nga di maka-afford ug ing-ana. pwede lagi planuhon ug ayo way in advance. meaning mag-save pa intawn ug dugay. but para nako unsa man tawn na? magsave ug magplano ug dugay as if mupadung magtour sa europe? nga unta within ra sa Pilipinas na nga tour, so dapat sayun ra unta na. but no. lisud sya para sa majority sa mga Pinoy. maayo unta ug ang tourism industry sa Pinas mu-cater first sa Pinoy. naa untay standard sa transportation systems ug sa mga hotels nga ma-afford sa halos tanang taw para makit-an ug ma-appreciate sad sa Pinoy ang natural beauty sa ato nasud.

i can agree that lack of financial capability is one of the reasons. but do keep in mind, we don't always have to be sosyal when we travel. you don't need to stay in the 5 star hotels and eat in the top restaurants all the time. just going for the heck of the experience is worth it.

the other thing to do is to keep travel in mind as one of your goals and really save towards it.

that said, i've been lucky to have been to almost 60 islands in the philippines. but it was a conscious effort and part of it was luckily job-related.

Usahay man gud mas mahal man noon ang local tourist compare sa mga foreigner........
