Problem Reformatting My Old Rig

Good day to everyone na taga istorya. Hope maka enlighten mo sa akong problem.

Processor - AMD Athlon XP1800+
Mobo - ECS K7AMA3
RAM - 2 x 256MB DDR1 PC400
Video Card - Inno3d GF MX4000 64MB
Hard Drive - Seagate 40GB IDE 7200rpm
Optical Drive - Sony CD-RW 52X 32X 52X
PSU - Dynamo ATX 350W Dual Fan (i consider this as generic)
Add-ons - PCI LAN Card

Trying to reformat this setup. Maka load ko sa initial XP Pro na setup. But whenever I go for the option to quick format the hard drive (NTFS), i get stuck at 20% ra. Mu hang dayon.

Akong na try na paagi.

a. Replaced RAM to 1 x 512MB DDR1 PC400 - still the same result
b. Replaced hard drive to Seagate 80GB IDE 7200rpm - still the same result
c. Replaced video card to Powercolor ATi 9250 128MB - still the same result

What else can be the problem? Help . . .

hmmm...
1)try replace your hdd cable bro or check those IDE cables kung na maayo paba.. kay na
2) check lang sad imo optical drive kung ok paba na basin dili na kaayo mo basa..
3)check sad imo cd installer kung wala bay garas mostly raba garas ang prob sa cd mao dili mo padayon setup.
experienced na ni nako kadaghan sa mga Tandogonon na rigz. Just try lang gud basin mao diay prob kay daghan man sad possibilities sa problema.

Bro, also did what you suggested. Still the same result.

1. HDD cable replaced with a brand new one - still the same result
2. used a DVD optical drive - still the same result
3. installer is newly burned and really sure na readable.

I will go for use a different OS installer.

bro try resetting the bios, remove the battery for seconds then also clear CMOS using the jumper. Try bro and post your updates k.

Bro Yugi, did what you advised. Still the same result. Mu hang gihapon on the part pag 20% quick format (NTFS). I also tried changing the IDE interface cables to a new set. Bummer, di gihapon mu lusot.

Di ba kaha ni daot ang one of the small capacitors? Hmmmm..., thanks for the advice Bro Yugi.

Keep those suggestions coming. Really appreciate it.

Need it to be in Windows operating system Bro. XP would be the best choice for these hardware constraints.
