Returned Corsiar Dominator 1066*memtest passed

I'm selling Corsair Dominator ddr2 1066 4gb (2x2gb)

The sticks were ordered and returned by an istoryan because he claims one stick is defective.

I tested the stick and it was OK. I then tested two sticks and they were OK. I tested them in two different systems; in one system i made one pass, in the other system i made two passes. Memtested with a memtest bootable cd. stick was tested one by one and tested in the first slot near the proc.

IMHO, in my years of tinkering around, i have never seen mem that passed memtest with so many passes and were bad sticks; if you have a different experience please let me know. I think the problem was his system as there are so many things that can affect a stable system(board, bios settings, etc) especially with high performance systems and if testing within windows.

The sticks were delivered to him last Saturday. I got them back yesterday so you will have an idea of approximately how long they were with him.

As with all my other items from now on, I have to issue a disclaimer already:

if those rams passed Memtest w/out any bad bits, then unsa diay iyang gigamit nga pang testing nga naka ingon man sya nga defective ang one stick?...hmmm...nindot iya software for testing kai accurate kaayo...share bi...me i use memtest & RAM Probe 2007, basin mas accurate tu iyang software tester gigamit...

actually i clarified it because i thought ning fail sa iyang system ang usa ka stick niya using memtest in dos bootable cd mode. when i asked him again he said it did not fail in memtest diay but failed in windows using occt,pcmark, etc.

this is why i think the problem is with his system and settings setup. even memtest in dos mode actually stresses out the cpu and board even in default optimized bios settings. so dili ko katuo nga there's something wrong with the ram.

if i rma this, corsair will laugh at me and will let me pay for the shipping because there's nothing wrong with it using memtest.

in that case the problem might be in the mobo...basin naa problem accessing higher addresses sa ram...don't send that to Corsair, aside from brushing u aside for claiming something defective when it ain't...samot ka kalugi kai back&forth bayad nimo shipping cost

bad trip ko gamay kay these are ordered sticks. i don't even want to stock them.
next time gani, when i deliver the items pabayran na gyud nako.
