Unsay gamit ani...? (message to students and fresh graduate)

eh guys,

Naay mga graduating students na nag cge ask nako about "unsa may gamit aning mga subject sa college na wla man na gamit sa industry.." Obviously wla pa cla alamag sa industry...

Just to enlighten STUDENTS and developers alike who always ask question during their college days; (in.ani ang pangutana).. Unsa may gamit mag kat.on mi ug Data Structure, File Structure,OOP/OOD ug uban pang mga theories sa programming nya ang DEMAND sa market kay layo ra kaayu, KUSOG man ang demand sa WEB(PHP...) or ENTERPRISE karn (.NET).

Ang kamatuoran, ang kanang mga theory i.e. (Data struct ug mga minors) makatabang na sa mga COOL programming areas like GAME PROGRAMMING, GRAPHICS programming, FIrmware development, System developemt ug mga ALGORITHM intensive na mga development...

Question is, are you guys satisfied mo develop lang ug .NET or mga HIGH LEVEL applications? if your answer is YES then you still need to study software design, OOP/OOD(C#,Java,C++).. If youd like to develop
Low level applications like Firmware(for cellphone and devices) or Game/graphics programming(especially 3D) then you need all the theories you can get(even Trigonometry)... 3d game programming needs theories and concepts from trigo, data struct and OOD..
Information Systems NEEDS to be implemented with proper design as discuss with SAD subjects!!

Those guys like for example from Microsoft, gipasayun na nila ang mga trabaho sa mga developers karn para ka develop ug mga applications.. now the question is DO YOU STILL CONSIDER YOURSELF AS PROGRAMMERS or just a mere USER sa mga API na GIBUHAT SA MICROSOFT??

My point is, and nakat.unan sa school is important para sa industry, mao btaw gi offer na sa curiculum..
DLi necessary naka memorize ka sa tanan concepts ang importante is naa kay idea about something that can help you analyze certain problem..

For me, not really and I admit that I am easily hooked up to Microsoft technologies its because programming windows is easier. Also, it gives me a lot of opportunities especially the .NET technolgies.

Nindot jud if naa ka knowledge from OLD & New School.

Dili malikayan nga sa mga bag-ong trends karon makahunahuna ghapon ka ug nindot nga functionalities nga iadd sa bag-o. So magamit jud nimo ang OLD school way of coding.

Mao ni akong ginabuhat sa trabaho. Usahay dili ko masatisfied sa output sa mga new libraries maong kinahanglan irevised para momeet sa expectation.

In New School your just close to being a mere user. Nindot jud tong OLD School kay kahibaw ka sa root sa tanan, eventually makamodel paka sa bag-ong trends.

One of the things I got really bored on when I was in college was the Design patterns. But now that I'm working, I realized that those concepts were pretty handy. Some minor subjects are useful too... Say for example math, accounting and english. It may not be all case scenario but there are instances that a program would consist of simple and complex math. Example, game programming, encryption and decryption. accounting, it may not be enough but at least you have a basic knowledge when you are going to make an accounting system and other related systems. English, a good program always have a proper documentation. And you don't write a documentation in dialect. You write it in english. For me lang hap, ang dili magamit nga subjects sa college in IT field are Filipino, History, Rizal and etc.

Ang tanang subject kay importante gyud na... tanan naay rason ngano gi offer na sa school. History? sabotable na kaayo na ngano ato na studyhan ang history. Filipino, sympre importante gyud na nga ma ilhan nmo ang mga lain laing taw sa pilipinas.... Si tatay Rizal.. sympre... unsaon nalang kung wa to sya di wa tay national hero so ato gyud na studyhan ngano sya gi bansagan nga national hero.... gnahan ka nga ingnon sya nga national hero pero wa ta kahibalo ngano?

for the major subjects like theories... gamit gyud na bisag dili lang sa course nato.. bisag flowchart... sa tanang course gamit gyud na.. ang importante ang logic ug pasensya gyud basta naa mo sa CS. naay kahibalo mo program pero way logic.... naay maayo ug logic pero way pasensya.. di ba? so di makaton ug programming Hehehehehe mao ray ako ika share ha...
