Bujinkan has classic Samurai Ryus (even that they are most known for their Ninja Ryus), which would contain both the Samurai sword, but also classic Karate and Ju-Jutsu since these Ryus has not been changed into sports, where you are able to compete in tournaments like many other styles did.......
The techniques used in Bujinkan are as deadly today, as when the Ninja used them 1000 years ago, the only thing that has been done is updating our knowledge and style to the world we live in and the dangers we might meet, like using modern guns and gun shooting (the Ninja did use gun powder even back in the old days to make explosives and sleeve guns)....

That means many of the techniques you see within Bujinkan are classic Samurai schools (and sword schools)....
Now i teach a mix of FMA/Eskrima (the Villasin Balintawak) together with parts from the Dacayana Eskrima System and Bujinkan. But i dont focus so much on the sword, we already learn it within FMA/Eskrima.

So i like to know if you only wanted to learn the sword like in Kendo or if you like the empty hand from the classic samurai schools like i use a lot (together with above)?

    PS. I teach for free...

hi, to answer your questions, yes there is an authentic koryu school here in cebu. The Tachikaze Kenjutsu Dojo, styles taught are Hyoho Niten Ichi Ryu and Ishikawa Ichiden Ryu. for details, you may wish to contact Batayola Isagani Sensei of the University of San Carlos PE department of weekdays during office hours.

@ Mr. Jensen, I also studied FMA under Master Jun Dacayana for quite a while.
