Just recently I have decided to start finding a job here in the US... we found a catholic nursery/daycare run by sisters in our community for our nearly 2-year old baby. There is way way VAST opportunities to choose from... but the question is... which career path to follow. I have a degree in computer science from AMA cebu, just a typical graduate who did not have the chance to enhance or practice my profession. Although at one time I took interest in the web, only I cannot say I am that good except SEO's. That I can say I'm really good at, but most seo's are freelance, definitely no security over that, too much competition around too. Kanang syurbol nga career gyud ba, kanang permi ang kwarta.
However, I have decided to further my study here at George Mason University in DC. Naa silay online courses which I can take at my own pace since I still have kids to take care of. If I ask your POV? Which computer field is right for me?
1. Medical Transcription - I type 73 WPM and had at least 2 years experience doing transcription in Cebu. I'm not that good at it though, but can learn a whole lot and get certified. Amo ra gung boss ga train namo ato.

2. Get a Multimedia Design Certificate - I have a vague idea of multimedia... vague lang. How big do you think is the chance for success over this career path?

3. Web Database Developer -

4. Career in Programming - What programming language is highly competitive and widely used by companies?
Ganahan unta ko programming, aside from it's very well paid here, mao gyud akong interest. One thing that's stopping me from deciding on following this career path is... If I can, I don't want a job that I can take home coz I want to be able to spend quality time with my kids. Be able to help them with homework instead of.. kebaw namo... bisan gatan.aw ug tv ang huna-huna tua pa gihapon sa problema sa program. Ma nerd man gud ta. Oftentimes, make our own world na. Pastilan tinuod. Stressful kaayo sa utok nga trabaho, imposibleng ibilin sa opisina. I know most programmers are very obsessive... I think wala man siguroy dili obsessive?
That's why I'm favoring medical transcription over programming, so far. Basin naay programmer diri makahatag ug advice, if it's possible to attain balance over family and highly demanding kids. With medical transcription pwede I can work at home... and it doesn't demand too much of brain function to the extent of obsession. Heheh. Advice please? If you have time to check their course details over at George Mason through my links, kung sulit ba ilang course outline. Thanks daan.
