    Default Employer - Empoyee Relationships

What are your thoughts on this?
    How should employees be treated?
    How should employers be?

i think it's ok as long as you do your job as an employee while inside the company premises.

IMO, the best employers are those who worked as an employee first. That's why I strongly advise aspiring entreprenuers to work for a year or two just to see how things are at the other side of the world.

It has limits though. Ive been working for a year yet and glad that my expectations exceed far beyond what i thought. In a corporate world, employees are taught to respect their employers. IMO, if the employers want to gain respect from their workers then they too have to show respect first. Golden rule still counts here. Its a matter of placing yourself into another's shoes. And what im saying is viably RESPECT that's it. Mutual trust follows after. I think that's the best kind of relationship i knew well.

i have been working for personnel for almost 3 years in a multinational firm. part of my job is handling employee relations. basically it starts with sharing a common goal. however both party (employee and employer) have their own goals, as an employer they have goals for the success of the organization same with the employees they have goals for career growth and development for themselves. There must be a compromise. The employers should be able to communicate their goals effectively to their employee at the same time be able to integrate the goals of the employees so that employees will feel a sense of belongingness and empowerment. when this happens, a team is created and this team must be bonded through understanding each ones roles and functions in the organization. The bond then must be reinforced through different activties of the company to balance work life situation....

^i agree. both work towards a common goal. it's like getting in a boat that's headed somewhere. sometimes an employee needs to get off the boat (at a pier! hehe) either because he wants to pursue another direction in life, or because he is not/no longer a contributing boat crew member.
