Default Some help or ideas needed: minidv camcorder firewire connection problem

NEED HELP ON SONY MINIDV HANDYCAM

Guys, ask lang ko idea if asa and naay problem or unsa ang naka-cause sa problem:

I have a sony dcr-hc52 nga ako unta connect sa ako PC using firewire. I have already a PCI firewire card installed sa pc and the driver is correctly installed since na-detect man siya sa windows XP 64 bit nga OS. Ang problem kay pag-connect nako sa Cam gamit ang 4-pin to 6-pin firewire cable, dili man maka-detect ang video capturing software.. No device detected. and error.. Ako na gitry laing nga software para capture sa video from the Cam pero dili gihapon madetect..

Pero naa may display sa LCD sa cam nga "DVin"... so thus that mean ang cam walay problem?

Please need some help... Wala man pud ko laing device nga maconnect nako sa firewire card to see if ang firewire card naay defect.. Newly purchased man pud nga firewire card ako gi.install..

Is it also possible nga maski ang "DVin" nga message sa LCD mo-appear, naay defect ang iLInk port sa cam?.. pila pud kaha ang bayad if ako ni ipa.service ang cam for repair.. kinsay nakasulay parepair ani nga klase sa cam og ani pud ang problem..

Another last question that needs your idea; if in case dili jud ko kagamit sa iLInk port sa cam, then is using a video capture card tapos ako iconnect sa S-Video nga port, ok ba ang quality sa video?

    Need help..Thanks.

    first of all:

    - what is your operating system?
    - have you installed the latest drivers to support your camcorder?

I have dual boot OS: Windows XP 32bit & Windows XP 64bit to and test if which one could detect the cam. I've installed all drivers and found no updates for them. Anyway, sony says sony dcr-hc52 is compatible with movie maker but then when I tried using it, it is unable to detect the cam - another thing, I did not see Windows popping a hint when I switched on the cam; it was not either listed in the Device Manager...

    Thanks for the reply anyway..

Thanks for the suggestion bro. I'll try to hook the cam to other pc.. I'm doing a research now and it seems like Windows xp sp3 got messed up with VIA OHCI driver ( I have intex firewire card - can't find TI firewire ) I'll try to install windows xp sp1.. I hope it'll detected.. what do you think bro?..

    Thanks for the reply..

I've search about winxp sp3 and yes you're right there seems to be a problem with sp3 driver for OHCI COMPLIANT IEEE 1394.. I'll try to roll back using sp2...Thanks...

Some says, Texas Instrument firewire card is far better to use than VIA firewire.. what's your ideas about this guys? .. I have a VIA firewire card and it seems I can't find anywhere in cebu TI firewire card except for the built-in firewire port on most recent motherboards nowadays. Oh my, oh my, should I spend money to buy another mobo that has a built-in firewire port and a TI chipset?..
