Baguio suits up for Air21! redbull out of the pba?

The trade involving Baguio and Celino Cruz for Air21’s first round picks in the 2011 and 2012 Drafts was approved yesterday after commissioner Sonny Barrios got an assurance from both teams that they will continue to uphold the league’s rules, particularly those concerning the salary cap.

Meanwhile, sources said yesterday Red Bull coach Yeng Guiao is set to tender his resignation as Barako coach soon, ending what has been a successful partnership with the Photokina franchise.

Guiao’s resignation will free up more time for him to focus on the national team, where he is head coach.

Guiao has mounted a successful PBA campaign with the Barako, winning several titles despite a roster decimated by one-sided trades.

Red Bull, over the years, has lost several stars due to these trades, including Baguio, who tries to help Air21 in its 6 p.m. game against Purefoods.

Basin hurot2 na budget ani nila kay kung performance sa PBA lang ang basehan they did well ra baya, won a number of titles..

Pero cge na lang, Red Bull under Yeng Guiao was a hell of a training ground for those superstars mentioned above. Nya gipahimutang pod sila sa Red Bull adto sa laing teams before cla mohawa sa PBA..hehe

who knows makakauha sila sa No.1 pick this season and use it for Japeth Aguilar. and they have additional first-round picks they got from previous trades, maybe their just rebuilding. we just dont know...

japeth aguilar has already commited to join the national team led by SBP under toroman along with gian chiu.. and part of being a member of the national team is to remain amateur for four years...but who knows japeth might change his mind but i highly doubt it because each member of the final members of the national training pool will receieve as big as a pro pba player so as not to tempt them going pro

the photokina franchise has always been going down since the past two years. their main product red bull in which they are the distributor here in the philippines isn't enjoying a big margin in the market here in our country due to competition. plus the other one thats hanging on their necks is their contract with the government to provide automated balloting machines for the high-tech election so-to-speak but in case nobody knows what happened, the contract was made void by the supreme court.

i've read in an article by beth celis of inquirer.net that redbull will still stay but on a very very very low budget team. so red bull fans, keep your hopes high.

as for hatfield, afaik, he's currently playing in a filam league in california leading his team..hmm...

harbour centre will not enter pba...well probably as of now..

however, Harbour Centre team owner Mikee Romero is joining the PBA through Burger King(will be the new name of Air21 next conference).

Lina and Alvarez have stated that they have already achieved the exposure they wanted for Air21 thus they wan't Burger King to do the same. For information, Burger King is owned by majority by Lina which is the owner of Air21. Minor stakeholders include, Manny Pangilinan owner of TnT, Rick Vargas governor of Tnt, Wilson Young of Tanduay and Mikee Romero team owner of Harbour Centre.

If you saw the game between purefoods and air21, a camera shot was seen of Mikee Romero. Rumor has it that it was Mikee Romero who initiated the trade for Bagiuo and Cruz. Speculations however indicates that Mikee Romero will be the new governor of Burger King because Lina and Alvares does not want to have anything to do with the team anymore.

As for Romero's team in the PBL, i'm not quite sure what will happen if he'll still be active since the acquisition of Harbour Centre by Manny Pangilinan. Manny Pangilinan bought the company and will take over the day to day operations of Harbour Centre(the company not the team) but i think it will come in package. It will be Manny's discretion if he wants to keep a farm team in PBL like what San Miguel did with Magnolia team.
