Next Cebu City Mayor: Is There an Alternative?

Cebuanos deserve better governance..Presently crime rate is up, the city streets are dirty, too many street urchins, laws/ordinances are poorly enforced, traffic is getting worse, many of our roads are damaged....

And now we are again being made to choose between traditional politicians or their kins, I am hoping some real alternative shows up soon. It's time we make Cebu a better place

Cebu politics... the kins rule forever; unless some politician is exceptional enough to replace and outdo the bad governance. mao raba gyud ni akong namatikdan in Philippine politics. basta mao ra gihapong apelyidoha ang nag dumala sa pipila na ka tuig, bati ug pang gobyerno. imbis mu asenso, musamot ka ala-ot.

dude ayaw lang pud palabi anang mga bati nimong pulong!!...I know and you know that CEBU continously progressing(it may not be OVERNIGHT but atleast NAA).. and what can you expect if most of the budget especially for our infrastructure is heavily concentrated in Manila(Multi Billion peso Expressways, MRTs, LRTs, etc. etc.)

it also goes the same for Mandaue, Talisay, etc. pero Cebu city ra usa ako gi spot bcoz Im a resident sa Cebu City. Dili man ni pagpanaway but its actually more of a wish

im a lumad from lapulapu, but i always admire cebu's gov't especially under tommy... actually wala may political dynasty sa lapulapu... then again i would really love mactan to have a mayor like mayor tom...

I appreciate your optimism. Yet we also have to be aware nga ang progress is not just about mega projects like the SRP or bustling commercial parks like the Cebu Business Park or mushrooming high end real estate developments like Crown Regency, etc. I will agree with you nga on that aspect naay progress. But since expected nga mosaka ng crime rate ug uban pang problema with these developments, it is rather important nga Cebu City should also look ahead of it. Awareness and acceptance of the current situation is a prerequisite to change for the better. So unless, atong madawat nga hugaw lang gihapon ang Colon and elsewhere, dili fully functional ang drainage sa Colon, nga daghan kaayong dalan ang lubak lubak sa may Reclamation, sa Escario, even ang N. Bacalso Avenue, Sanciangko, etc., daghan lang gihapon street urchins, in fact nagkadaghan man gani, that our streets have become more dangerous sa kadaghan adik, hubog ug sipok lang jud ug ulo nga magpahawod hawod, nga daghang abusadong drivers(ug pedestrians pod), walay aksyon buhaton. Ato sa na dawaton nga mao nay sitwasyon despite all the mushrooming buildings that we see, and then we will be able to move forward maskin slowly(maskin dili overnight).

Unya lame sad kaayo nga excuse nga pasanginlan dayon ang Manila because nganong mabuhat man sa Naga City sa Bicol nga motranscend beyond the present situation and still progress at exponential rates, nganong mahimo man sa Upi, Maguindanao ang hapsay ug progresibong pagdumala in the midst of 3 major tribes/groups of people nga naay history of bad blood or conflict, nganong mahimo man sa Isabela province nga ma wipe out ila utang of almost a billion in less than 3 years. These examples just goes to show that our city officials can actually do better.
