    Default mobile internet 101

atensyon mga bright sa selfone: Can you please share some info on the ff?
When I use my cell for internet, 3G would be faster than GPRS right? If 3G on my cell is active, automatic na ba nga naka 3G once I browse the internet or do i have to de-activate GPRS? is 3G broadband? Kanang HDSPA unsa man pud na? Kanang EDGE? Daghana ani oi.
Does anyone have a simple answer?

yup bro mas pas2x ang 3g ky up 384 kbps mn xa and automatic na gmiton ang 3g signal if mgbrowse ka..
ang HSDPA mao na bag-o, offers up 3.6 mbps but it depends on your phone unit..
if under ka sa 3g signal, usually the icon 3g would appear pro if your getting more than 3g signal(384kbps), icon would change to H(higher than 384 kbps) whch is HSDPA
-based on my experience lang na pd ni..hehe

wala pa ko wifi phone but i think if you'll be able to connect to a wireless network, mao na na iya gmiton automatic na...

I used to have a phone w/ wifi.. I thought at first its a great bang for the buck phone, It's the in-thing already to be using a phone which is wifi-ready (being able to connect seamlessly to any free wifi hotzone here in Cebu).. BUT as time goes by.. I slowly woke up to the reality that these is not the case.. Certain wifi zones would ask you first to subscribe to their amenities before you can connect your phone to their wireless router. Most establishments put WEP keys to their routers, so that only and only their respective customers can use their connection.

Now I'm not ranting here though.. there are still very few ones that really do offer FREE WIFI access.. BUT.. you really need to just be on the lookout or from your friends (who has used wifi also) where to hooked up free internet connection thru wifi.

Now, Im just talking here sa Cebu lang.. but really, HSDPA is really the way to go, if you're a regular internet webbie.. just make sure lang sad.. you got more juice on your phone's battery.. as it's really going to be a phone's batt power SUCKER all thoughout..

for me, wifi is my primary while hsdpa/3g/edge/gprs is my secondary connection. why? because wifi is free. you pay for the rest. tinu-od hassle mag determine if the wifi signal is free or security-enabled but there are a lot of free software programs for your phone to do this for you. happy signal hunting!

If 3G on my cell is active, automatic na ba nga naka 3G once I browse the internet or do i have to de-activate GPRS?
-> depende sa imong settings. ako fone kay automatic. if naa mas better signal reception of either 3G or GSM kay mo shift lang cya.

    is 3G broadband?
-> depends. if broadband kay mas high carrying capacity man daw na cya.

Kanang HDSPA unsa man pud na? Kanang EDGE? Daghana ani oi. Nag libog na ko.
-> mao daw ni ang signal hierarchy in term sa capacity (nagstart from low speed)
    - GSM (2G)
    GPRS, EDGE (EGPRS), CSD
    - UMTS (3G)
W-CDMA (UMTS), HSPA (HSDPA, HSUPA, HSPA+)
    - and more...

-> mao lagi to, automatic mo shift imong fone if mao na imong settings.
it is wise to set your service to 3G if mag internet ka para pas2x ang connection.
but depends ni sa location dba. if mo adto ka bukid or prvince, tingali wlay 3G so mag 2G(GSM)

Does anyone have a simple answer?
-> wla ko wifi fone so dli ko sure. pero wi-fi is different from mobile fone signals.

    enjoy!

sa akong iPAQ, it automatically switches to the fastest connection... example if I'm surfing the internet using Wi-Fi, when I go out of range sa wi-fi signal, it automatically switches to GPRS...when I go back to the wi-fi signal range, it switches back to wi-fi....maybe ingon ana lang pud ang principle sa other phones...

QUESTION: I'm confused wether to get an e63 or an e71.. So you mean if I get the e63 kay dili kusug ang internet kay its not HSDPA?
