Default USB device for desktop PC as a Phone???

Im not a ECE or something student... Im just curious/wondering if there is a device where we can insert a sim card then attached it to our desktop PC... In this way, we can just receive text messages, calls through our PC...Advantages that i foresee on this is that we dont anymore need to bring cellphone, we can communicate through our pc without a need for an wireless internet connection, and lastly we can insert multiple device, thus multiple sim cards since pc is multitasking.

You might think this is crazy and impratical but there are lots of things you can do on PC that should have been done in PC phone... La lng..Chill pipz..

    FYI
dugay na ni existing mga boss...u know the application that comes with the fone where you install it in the PC..you can recieve and send SMS>..done it with PALM DESKTOP software...using ofcourse palm phone.
impractical coz youre not mobile..ure stuck up bringing a bulky laptop everywhere...thats why they call it a mobile phone so you could be mobile...
if you wanted to have a software for the one that you are proposing i strongly suggest read VB6 and VB.NET...mka himo jud ka ug emulator and software so you could send, recieve sms on your desktop...
you dont need an ECE for this or a rocket scientist..just a simple programming language can do the trick...

reader raman na...wala man na siya antenna so you can't communicate with the network soyou can't text...why not use a phone to connect to the pc and read the sim card thru the phones sim reader
