kana gud ang database naa sa server, unya ang mga users sa program naa sa network dungan nga mo access sa database or dungan nga mo gamit sa imong program nga gihimo sa powerbuilder. basically ingon-ana na.
client is the workstation, server is the name itself. daghan development tool for client-server programming, but kung reports na gani, database entry and retrieval, design sa database, power gyod ang powerbuilder.

so karon nailhan na nga way ayo ang powerbuilder because:
    - proprietary
    - not free
    - karaan na nga technology, 2 tier architecture, datawindow..wihihihih, database centric

so mas maayo pa ug mag Java or .Net ka kay:
    - open (web services, de facto standard, connectivity)
    - plantsado na imong future ug career, companies are looking for it
    - walay mahimo sa powerbuilder nga dili mahimo sa java ug .net.
    - Supported by big companies including Sybase
