Kasulay na mo ug experiment using side gapped spark plugs?
Gisulayan gyud nako but straight lang ang prong on the side of the center electrode, it works better than super four spark plugs.

Gisulayan pud nako nga gitangtangan nako ug prong, much better pa gyud ang performance than side gapped plug. Maka ingon ko much better sya kay mas smooth ang andar, samot na kung irev ang engine, smooth ug pino kaayo ang tingog. I can imagine mura siguro ug firestorm or halo plugs ang effect sa spark with the current setup.
Di ko sure mo work ni sa uban cars pero kung interested ka mo sulay, mahibaluan nya nimo kung applicable ra ba sa car nimo or not. With my car, applicable ra gyud kaayo, one click start dayon ug nag improve ang performance. I also take note on the spark plug burn characteristic and the exhaust pipe output, so far so very good ug mas bugnaw ang exhaust.
Mao na ni akong gamiton sugod karon, testing period pa lang ni, obserbahan pa gyud ni nako ug long trips. With this setup, di na ko magkinahanglan pa ug special spark plugs ug solved na ang problema sa indexing ug gapping.

Are you talking about a NEW or OLD sparkplug ?

The spark plug I modified is a working (used for three months last year) Denso U-grooved plugs. Possible di ni mo work nga pamaagi sa uban engine like the way it did sa engine nako. Spark plug lang ang gikalingawan nako ug modify since other settings are already working before I did my experiment. Kinahanglan lang gyud limpyohan ug maayo ang giputlan nga side aron patag sya. Murag mas nindot imodify ning bosch super four kay gagmay na daan ug electrodes, mas dali limpyohon, upat lang kabuok sa usa ka plug. hehe

So na assessed nimo na mas ni improved ang ignition ? NIndot ang spark gyud ?

Ang gi basihan lang nako kung unsay performance, response kung modagan and at idle for every set of spark plugs. Wala pa nako ma test outside sa engine or sa bench to see the spark pero naa traces sa ceramic insulator kung unsa ka lapad or kung asa ang spark kay malimpyo man ang part sa spark plug kung asa sya ga spark. Example, sa super four spark plug, upat ang possible agian sa spark ug makita pud nako nga naay lines on top of the ceramic going to each prong. Without the prong, mas expose ang spark ug di ra maalihan. Another thing I noticed is that exhaust temperature went down/less smell than using super four spark plugs. Lahi pud ang tingog sa makina, mas hilom ug less kurog ug mas ubos ang tuno or tingog kung paminawon. Murag round ang buto sa combustion, dili hait. I still have to observed this setup for a longer time kung unsay mahitabo.

I did a short trip, around 6km lang with the engine already warm, much better karon ang dagan with the modified spark plugs kompara sa bosch super four nako. Checked the plugs after the trip, limpyo kaayo (wagtang ang mga karaan nga hugaw), exhaust daghang tubig. I'll have to refine this setup with a cleaner cut, naa pa gamay sami sa pag limbas nako sa giputol nga part. Yes, gatuyok ang spark kay 360 degrees man ang available ground nga pwede ambakan.

Daghan naman naghimo with similar setup without prong pero sa bench lang and they use another power source for capacitive discharge aron daghan plasma spark. Nag ready lang ko for that setup since much better ang walay prong when using plasma spark with water vapor. Since mi work ni nga setup, I'll keep it this way lang for now. However, working na ning capacitive discharge using another power source in conjunction with the ingnition coil ug ubay ubay na pud nag testing ani.

Undangan na nako ug testing kay nag sugod na misfire after 30kilometers, naay carbon deposits sa negative terminal rim, mao ni misfire. hehe

I was wrong thinking it was a misfire since smooth ra man diay gihapon ang andar sa engine and the problem I experienced was not related sa spark plug but on the wheel (pa check pa nako ni unya). Gibalik nako ug gamit ang modified spark plugs ug karon pa ko kabantay nitaas pud diay ang idle rpm niya from 500rpm to 750rpm na ug misaka pud ang idle vacuum around 2in. Hg more. I'm still using the stock ignition system of the Nissan LEC, only the spark plugs are modified, prongs removed.
