i watched one movie from this year's film fest, german movie Mondscheinkinder (Children of the Moon).

    here's a link of A Guide To Cine Europa 11 @ ClickTheCity.com Movies
the screening schedules are for manila but you could check out the synopsis and reviews/comments of some movies. i like better last year's list of movies, though.

While I think there were some really good ones last year, e.g. The Lives of Others (which actually didn't reach Cebu) or Bergman's Fanny and Alexander (which also didn't reach Cebu) or La Mome (this reached Cebu, at least), the selections for Cebu Cine Europa movies the previous year were pretty crap. Opening night they had to show an old British made for TV movie of Taming of the Shrew?! I couldn't care less about the acting, but the production value was super mediocre. How cheesy. And then there's this really aweful movie called Jalla! Jalla! which caused me to literally ran out of the theater even before it finished just so I will never catch a glimpse of it again. Huh. Talking about bad cine europa movies.

Anyways, this year at least After the Wedding hits Cebu. This was nominated for an Oscar Best Foreign Language film. And then there's One Hundred Steps to look forward to. I'm also looking forward to Anand tucker's new feature And When did you last see your father. His movies have generated interests, at least for me. Hope these movies won't be disappointing.

i was actually hoping to see When Did You Last See Your Father, but right after watching Children of the Moon, we were just in time to reach the ticket booth to see the last ticket given to someone else. Just in time. the 'technique', a friend told me, is to go out of the cinema in the middle of the show to secure a ticket for the next movie. waah. i didn't know that!

the hungarian movie i saw last year is entitled Just *** and Nothing Else. had me laughing all throughout the movie. =)
