Sun.Star Cebu - Speak out: In defense of the youth

If people only understand the word "CHANGES". That world changes so fast and so are the people who live in it. The older generation (Jurassic) might not understand today's youth because it's not the way it is during their times. If those changes are for the good or bad, that's how it is.

as of the moment, i could not defend the youth... hell, i have not even resolve my issues on identity confusion.

reading it, i really don't want to act prejudicial over the younglings today but from what i have seen so far, nobody's really giving them that due attention, and as expected for any attention deficit, they go looking for trouble to grab that attention they want. hey i love EMO music, but darn, does one really have to slash ones wrist para mahimong full fledge EMO... gosh!

i could not blame them if they don't know that Leon Kilat St. is not named after a Lion named Kilat or that they are clueless of the Bravery of Tamblot or Diego silang. as a matter of fact, i don't know who to blame. maybe they could only blame themselves, because they just seem to care less!

media should be controlled by some org di ba like MTRCB and the likes... so, should we blame them for what's happening with our youtH? and MTRCB is a delegated branch by the gov't right? so, should we also blame the gov't? the gov't is the representation of the people... so, should we blame the people instead?!

i guess in finding out who's to blame, the youths are already capable of discerning their own self, actions and decisions. they should not expect for the world to understand them, coz the world, the grown ups, and those who expect to understand them are busy with something else. reality bites, so hard it truly hurts!

not all are censored. how can you censor vanity and ultra-pop culture? the media bombarding society with ***, vice and vanity because it sells.

yes we are in a democratic country but responsibility should come with it.

compare the quality of material in media in the 70's and 80's to the content from the 90's onwards. we might have progressed in technology but we totally retrogressed in values and morality. being more intelligent and learned doesn't necessarily make us better persons.

perfect example is a 30-40 year old parent, with the same or even lower level of thinking and perspective than their teenage children.

i am speaking generally of course but it is happening and happening faster than we can imagine.

daghan mga factors ang angay tan-awon...

una.. gikan sa ato tagsatagsa ka pamilya... then next to the environment that we are in to... but kinahanglan man nato pangitaan ni nato ug solusyon... kung tan-aw nila nga naay problema then lets help solve the problem and just don't preach it.....

the question now will be... what have we done for our country?....

i forgot to add that the internet is not censored. i don't believe it should be censored but it definitely should be regulated.
