Neo Vivid v1100 UMPC

And we thought Neo would stop at its Neo Explore X2 series. Looks like they’ve got a totally new model out the door — the Neo Vivid v1100 UMPC was spotted during the Intel Atom launch earlier today.

Basic configuration for the Neo Vivid includes an Intel Atom 1.6GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, 120GB SATA HDD, WiFi, 3-in-1 card reader, and a webcam. Display screen is 8.9-inch with resolution of 1024×600 pixels.

The Neo Vivid v1100 still has that semblance of the older Neo Explore series but has better design and finish than the former. Available in black, white, pink and yellow. Curious question is — has the Neo Explore branding a failure that they had to rename it? The Vivid could have easily been the Explore X3.

This model retails in stores for Php19,900 but you can bump the RAM to 2GB for an additional Php1,000. Pre-installed OS is Windows XP on a 30-day trial.

I haven't come across it's battery specs but with a P19,900 price tag, I'd think this UMPC would have a short battery life.

Would this new (version of Neo's) UMPC be able to compete with Asus EEE PC and Aspire One's Atom-based notebooks/UMPCs?

just got the same laptop 2 weeks ago. so far so good. I am aware though that bad kaayo ang reputation sa NEO. I would even go far as to say deservingly bad. but saying that, everything seemed ok when I got it. All the stuff where working, hardware wise. The OS had problems, naa virus and trojan daan. Basig nagsurf-surf tong mga taga computer shop ug mga pron using this new model. Anyway, I reinstalled the OS kay comes with winxp man sya. I chose this kay gamay sya and cheaper than MSI wind kay I carry this everyday to work. 1kg ra jud sya, compare that to a full blown laptop na usahay maabot 4kg.

dali lang jud moinit, better buy laptop fan. Basig unsa man sigurong laptop muinit jud. pero kung lite work, dili man. Dali ra sad mahurot ang battery. 3 hours ang indicated pero mga less than 2 hours ra sya. Of course depende ra na sa paggamit and gamay ra man sad ang iyang powersupply. mura ra gamay na cellphone kadak-a so dili hasol dad-on.

Hopefully dili ko magproblema ani.
