hello all...i wanna share some of my experiences travelling the world....let us start with a couple of pictures i took in kyoto,japan.....first picture shows geishas (maikos) walking sa street and the second picture shows them performing on stage....i hope you enjoy this thread....

^^ms. gwyn, nice pix you got there! i've always wanted to meet geishas..how much would it cost to dress like one hehe..

my friends and i planned to visit kyoto by autumn 2006..i think it's the best time to visit the place..

hello klavel....i don't know how much ila charge...but if you're going with friends...i suggest you do it ...bahala mahal...kay sus ang pictures di ma bang2....nindot kaayo ang kyoto inig autumn....first time nimo visit? i suggest you try to make time to visit nara as well...duol kaayo sa kyoto....if you compare the two...ang kyoto morag gold...glitter2...ang beauty high impact...ang nara is platinum...understated elegance...both places have a lot of UNESCO World Heritage Sites...it is really worth the trip....aw before i forget diay...around october there is a very big festival in kyoto....kalimot ko sa name...pero naa ko pictures sad...next time ako i-upload...i' glad you stopped by and posted your comments...please come back for more istoris....laags and what nots....share pod sis sa imo escapades...

@samokan...yes in Gion....daghan okiya sa gion so usahay ka timing ka real geishas ..especially around 18:30~19:30...padong sa ilang tea houses nga gi serve ban....kay most of the time those walking around in kyoto during the day are fakes...tourists dressed as one...

the second pic of maikos dancing are from Gion Performing Arts...it's a mini show of Japanese stuff like tea ceremony...ikebana....bunraku....etc....nya highlight ang dance sa maikos....3T yen man siguro to ang fee...nalimot na ko...

the first picture ...i am not sure...the second picture yes they are real.....i also have other pictures of real geishas ...walking at gion...naka pose gani ko with one of them...pero that time wala ko digital camera...so dili nako ma upload here ...

^^Gion...mmm..reminds me of the book "Memoirs of a Geisha"..

i'd love to go there..ms. gwyn, mga pila kha budget for 1 day trip??

btw, i've read sa Time Magazine that Geishas in Tokyo no longer dress the traditional kimono as compared in Kyoto..
