I needed my files from my troubled HDD drive. Pls help me.

Mga bosing ask unta ko tabang ninyo kay ang ako external HDD kay di na makita sa My Computer unya wala pud sa Disk Management. Inig connect nako sa USB kay madetect siya pero wla sa My computer then ako pud cya gitry gihimo nako og slave sa ako desktop. Makita siya sa BIOS pero wala sa My Computer. Kailangan unta kaayo nako ang mga files ug ubang program nga naa ato. Naa mo idea unsaon? Pls help me. Tnx

your mbr might be damaged (assuming the physical structure of your disk is fine).

chipmunk is right, mbr might be corrupted.

if hard drive is windows xp:

restart computer to recovery console using operating system cd use command "fixmbr <harddrive name here>", example "fixmbr \Device\HardDisk0" or "fixmbr D:" where d is letter of you secondary hard drive.

if windows vista:

start the computer in windows recovery environment using dvd then click repair your computer after language options, choose the command prompt and type the following:

bootrec /fixmbr (follow the prompts after typing this command.

external ra man siya bossing. wla man siya OS. mga files ra siya. Iya physical structure kay ok ra di man sad siya musaba if gamiton nako.

kung dili ma detect sa OS, its still a problem with the MBR, this is where the computer looks for information regarding the drive, if wala makit-an, wala response. MBR is only 512K on a certain part of your hard drive.

try connecting to other computer like sa cafe nalang, external man kaha na.. this would determine if ang HDD mo or Mobo ang guba.

rebuild or fix the MBR. this is not a OS files. MBR is the one responsible so that any HDD can be readable regardless if it contains OS or not. mao ni listahan sa mga info para masabtan sa OS na HDD na siya na device. kung mawala na tabla ra og gitangtang ang partition sa HDD.

i had a similar issue. used RECUVA and executed deep scan to recover the items.
