    Unhappy HELP CHKDSK on start-up


    Guys, my cousins laptop having a problem it will automatically Check Disk the drive C: during start-up. This happens everytime when he use the computer.
    Now, he wanted to disable it co'z it takes so long during start-up. Please advice mga master kung unsay ma-solution nato ani nga problem...

    Specs: (As per advice from him)

    HP Pavillion
    Windows Vista OS

    epa continue lang na og Chck disk.. para once and for all mahuman xa, aron dli na mag check dsk nxt start up..

    Bro, even imo cya pahumanon ug scan but on the next start-up mo gawas mn gihapon...Mao lagi nga ngproblem xa ky it takes time mn jud nga mgscan.

    @ san

    run "chkntfs /x c: d:" inside command prompt where c: and d: are the drives being scanned. you can change those depending on what drives being raped by that checkdisk.


    note: disabling checkdisk is not advisable.

    no harm in checking the cmos batt, too.

    we already try this possible solution but mao mn lang gihapon ang problema. Mogawas jud xa on the nxt start-up...

    murag lisod2 na nga problema dah... bsin hard disk jud ang deperenxa ana.. or posible pd OS..

    lemme guess,.. the very reason why chkdsk is triggers up bcoz, windows detects consistency on the drive... errors, unreadable areas, file system errors!

    and i guess the laptop is not taken good care... my advice... dont be so harsh on the laptops especially when it is turned on.. why? bcoz, the harddrive turned on inside it... bumps, could lead that R/W head of the drive to touch the platter < serious damage could give to the drive.

    if you really need to move your laptop from place to place, handle it like a small baby,... keep in mind that small bumps hurts it :P
