mini note sucks. try MSI wind or Asus 1000
I'm a user of hp 2133...
HP 2133 is good and much, much better than asus I think...but acer one is also good and it is quite cheaper than hp...i have seen redfox and as for me I don't like its physical apperance and it is not that popular to the public...heheh...MSI Wind is also good...
But I really suggest that you buy hp 2133 since hp has already been proven it's name...
hp 2133 uses the via proc which is slower than the atom the eepc/msi uses as per reviews and benchmarks. but i like the hp mini's design best. great keyboard!
Whats the price of the Mininote in Cebu?
im a HP Mini Note 2133 user.. Windows Vista Business Edition..
i was an Asus EEE PC 4gb user but disappointed with it. thats why i switched to HP and so far, loving it.
what i like about it?
- small, compact, light weight and handy. especially for me since im still a student and frequently on the go.
- screen is crystal clear. 1280x800 resolution not bad for a 8.9' screen.
- sound? at 50% sound can be heard from upstairs to downstairs. much more at 100% volume
- keyboard? big enough to type at ease AND small enough to be compact
- wifi sensitivity is great! can easily detect wifi signal and connects with no problems
- i love the recovery option where on the event that my laptop crashes after several virus attacks, i can easily restore to factory settings and not loose my OS!
- 160gb HDD? i couldn't ask for more!
- SD card slot is available for extra storage. which im using for just my documents. so in case my laptop crash my files are saved.
- LCD brightness is BRIGHT! really bright. im only down to 30% brightness and good enough to see. well... this may vary to other's preferences due to visual accuracy.
- charging time is only 1.5hrs for full charge.
what i dont like are:
- kinda sluggish from shut down to start up. approx 4minutes and 12 seconds. so i prefer to hibernate it instead. it takes only 1minute and 43 seconds. but im guessing this is due to the OS. Vista business? i guess its heavy enough for the little guy to carry.
- at HP optimized and power saver settings, browsing over the laptop is such a task! really slow. thats why im at max power but adjusted LCD brightness to conserve battery consumption.
- battery? not impressed. its still consumes just as much as the Asus EEE PC 4gb. approx 2-3hrs of usage. 1.5-2hrs on wifi. not to mention the annoying heat at the bottom. the irony is, both of the said laptops consumes the battery just as fast as a 15.4" laptop can.
- no free sleeve or bag! i had to have one made since there is no actual laptop bag for sale for such a small laptop.
- only 2 USB ports. unlike the asus i had 3 usb ports available for my usage.
- charger cord? can i get any longer?? annoying cables are really a burden. i hope to find a smaller charger later on.
- no internal mic available. unlike the asus, it has one. but im not a mic user but would have been nice if there is one.
- no soft reset button available in case the laptop hangs on me.
my bottom line? still a good laptop for everyday use. handy and portable. you can actually go beyond the "basics" with the HP Mini Note 2133. though not as good as a dual core laptop but serves its purpose.
2 thumbs up for this one..
i wont be selling this one any time soon. unlike my Asus which lasted only 2 months with me.
well.. this is just what i think.. some may say otherwise..
Prices ranges from 24,995 , 29,995 and 34,995. depending on your preference.
