Default port forward 3690 from firewall to router then router to server

mga bro, i need your suggestions/inputs regarding aning prob nako..
let me just state the details:
first, i have setup a local svn in one of our linux machines
i can access it via the url http://ip_of_the_server_where_svn_is..._of_repository
now here comes the prob, i want to access the same repository outside of office
    how can i do that?

the router we are using is linksys..i have tried to port forward port 3690 and tried accessing the url
http://public_ip_address/name_of_repository but then mag error man cya...

I think naa firewall between the router and the server so mao cguro wala niwork ang akong gbuhat. naglibog man gud ko unsa ang iset sa firewall and then sa port forwarding in order for this to work..

hope anyone of you can share your thoughts...thanks
