Two problems...

First, my old data dvds won't run when I put them in the DVD drive anymore... It can still read the DVDs bought from stores, but the ones that I burn can't be read...

Second, whenever I burn something, Nero 7 always says burn failed... Always... I can't burn my data files in DVDs anymore! NOOOooooo!!!

I'm thinking maybe my DVD drive is broken, or maybe it's the software Nero itself.. I don't know..

And last thing, do 20 peso blank DVDs have a short life span after you burn files into them?

did you clean your dvd rom? using philips brand - dry optical cleaner? - Might the cause of burn failed and not reading your dvds right - dvd codecs might be lost also (possibly virus or uninstalling softwares with shared files)

Those 20pesos dvd lasts, data being burned unto the dvd blanks is burned through laser

About the failed DVD Burns, are you runing any other applications while your burning? If yes, could you atleast tell us what are the specs of your PC.

Also I know this might be time consuming, but try burrning at lowest possible speed supported by your DVD-RW. Using slower speeds can help in lessening the chance of a bad burn.

Also, I've read recently in the internet that Nero 7 is not really that good. Most still prefer Nero 6 over Nero 7. Check here: Nero Sucks - Club CDFreaks - Knowledge is Power

I have this problem 2 years back. I found the writer to be faulty. Good thing it still has warranty.

In the case of Nero's "suckage", unsa may laing burning software nga recommended?

Alcohol 120% its better than nero but doesn't have the other functions like creating a dvd and vcd movie.

If it still has problems burning might need to buy a cd drive cleaner. Its like a CD but it has 1 or two mini brushes on its data surface.

you can also try lowering your burn speed. lets say you generic blank dvd's claim to run at 16x, try burning them 60-70% of their claimed speed.

its a good thing also to run optical disc drive cleaners once in awhile, because dust do get inside of the drive. any dust particles on the lens could greatly affect the performance of your optical disk drives.
