Hi everyone i need help, its about my linksys router(WRT300N) i just buy it awhile ago, my problem is how would i get access to another router,(access point to access point) what setting would i change and where?. it would be a big help for me your info. thank.

ni palit ko og bag-o nga linksys router(WRT300N), ang ako problem mo sulod ko sako lain router pinaagi og wireless sa lain router, wla ko kabalo kng onsaon nko pag access sa pikas router og asa elisan ang settings, kay kato raman sa pikas mao naa internet connection gud. den gusto nko e connect pud ni akng bago nga gepalit pra mao sad mo hatag sa ako PC diri og internet. onsaon man nko ni.?? asa elisan nako ang settings.

mao lagi ako na getan aw ang manual pero wla may proper instrution kng onsaon, ni tan aw napud ko sa advance setting wla gehapon, dli matol2xlan, ni sulod napud ko sa ela web site nakita nko didto pero lahi og model, ang ako man gud linksys WRT300n samtang ang model ge pakita didto WAP54G, lahi ra jud sa menu. naa ba kaha Linksys nga exclusive nga tindahan nga ato pud mapangotan=an diri sa cebu kamo bro kablo mo asa dapit diri cebu kana ra jud linksys hardware.. kay didto nlng ko mangotana.

imung i-connect physically ang WRT300n sa katong other router nga naay internet?

you have to change the WRT300n gateway IP to 192.168.2.1 kai usually and default sa mga router kai 192.168.1.1 so if ing ana ang router's deflaut IP sa router nga imung connectan, then imung WRT300n dapat, 192.168.2.1

then powercycle the two routers para mag work

if this would be hard wired...consider setting it up this way:

....dsl modem
..........|
..........|
..........V
.......router ----- ethernet cable ----- WRT300N
...gw=192.1.0.1.............................ip add=192.1.0.101
................................................. gw=192.1.0.101

where:
gw = gateway


so, your WRT300N's ip address should be the same as your WRT300N's default gateway

but, this setup would beat the function of totally going wireless. i think that your trying to setup your WRT300N as a wireless access point, thus, expanding your wireless coverage.

so, in order to wirelessly expand you network coverage, try manually setting the WRT300N ip and gateway address within the range of ip addresses provided by your router that has the internet connection.

lets say you computer's ip address is 192.168.0.100 and the default gateway is 192.168.0.1

for the router that is connected to the internet, set the DHCP start address to 192.168.0.100 and end address to 192.168.0.199 (you can skip this part unless you have a hundred computers)

set your WRT300N's ip address and gateway to 192.168.0.102 and set DHCP start address to 192.168.0.200


i might be wrong in my understanding....but its your call if you wanna give it a try
