guys, who of you or you friends or family have those widescreen TVs and is just using skycable or dream? for me its a waste of money if you just use those tv for that PURPOSE or even those pirated dvd's. sayang kaayo ang tv kay u are not using it to its potential. skycable and dream has signal that are just standard definition lang then when u watch them on widescreen tv then fill up the whole screen(strecthing the image) mu tambok na noon ang tao on it and everthing gets stretched. sugot ka ikaw naa sa tv then e stretched ka? hehehe. it doesnt look good gyud.

and for those of you using those tv's na widescreen for its potential kay don't forget to calibrate your tv's kay the default settings are optimize of in store viewing. like when you go to the mall nice kaayo ang image sa tv then pag abot nimo sa balay kay bati na ang image or lahi na its bcoz default settings are optimize of the store. for tweaking you can go to this sites Welcome to Tweak TV*-*TweakTV or AVS Forum go to the forums lang.

tip: to optimize your widescreen tv's kay you may want to use PS3, xbox360.
tip: for non gamers buy a DVD player that is up converting. <-- you will see the difference if you compare it with standard dvd player lang.(of course ayaw pirated gamit ha)

i think singapore stations lang ang nag broadcast ug HD nga signals.. so... if dinhi gamiton sa pinas.. dili kaayo gamit bisan HD imo TV..

heard this stretching thing using cable boxes from other users but haven't seen them yet kay wala may tv broadcast ang mga display sa mall. i am using a 50" panasonic plasma connected to a local cable tv and never did experience watching a stretched tv broadcast. also, plasma produce better picture when watching tv broadcast and standard dvd compared to lcd where it looks digitized. sa hidef (bluray or hdvd), both performs well. although naa lang gyud pros and cons ang plasma and lcd.

btw, if you fancy pirated dvds buy the ones ripped from a bluray or hdvd source (using dvd 9 discs). it has a higher resolution than orig dvd. this bootleg copies made the orig dvd run for their money. but you have to check the web to verify if there is already a release of that bluray movie, coz sometimes they will just print the bluray on the case to sell it fast.

or get the Popcorn Hour A-100 Network Media Tank. it plays the latest mkv movies without the noise of a running htpc. just bought one from Popcorn Hour Website but i was charged excessive tax by dhl, arghhh!!!. also got 750gb IDE hdd pre loaded with hi-def movies. very cool gadget and hey you can download torrent files directly. it saves your electric bill big time esp if you always download 24/7.

ako sad, home theatre pc setup ako, using a 32" widescreen lcd tv. make use of the HDMI para mas wider ang imo selection sa resolution.
