please help me with my problelm...im trying to fix this laptop that has a portable card type CDROM and an external floppy disk drive the problem is that it doesnt boot it stops on the WIDOWS 98 LOGON SCREEN so im thinking the there are missing or corrupted startup files which would be very easy if i could do a repair installation using a windows 98 cd, but the thing is when i go to BIOS setup it doesnt detect my external cdrom, i was planning to boot from cd but there's no option, there are only 2 options which is booting from floppy or from hdd..i tryd using a usb external hdd and placed a copy of the windows 98 setup so i could install it in safe mode...when i go to safe mode my external drives are not detected only the floppy disk drive... i hope you techies out there cld help me with ths problem...im new to repairing laptops....pls helllllllllllllllllpppppppppppppppp......thanx guys.......

laplink bai, hinay lang kaayo, but maagwanta ra. copyhon nimo ang installer sa hdd through laplink. LL3/LL4

i received the p.m. bai. kanang LL3.exe karaan na nga dos file sometimes useful gihapon sama anang imong problem. kung dili ka kita ug LL3.exe, i think parehas rana sa LL4.exe naa sa windows\command\LL4.exe sa windows98. copy ang LL3/LL4.exe sa bootable diskette. mo boot ka sa laptop through this diskette, connected ang laptop sa desktop through laplink cable (palit ka ani around P100 na sa store). ang desktop PC dapat naa pod sa DOS (pwede raman tingali DOS prompt sa windows). then padagana ang LL3/LL4.exe sa laptop ug sa desktop. inig dagan na sa duha, ikaw na bahala, hehehehehe. basta tag ang copy man tingali to nga menu ang gamiton, nalimot nako, mahinumduman ra kung makakita ko magdagan ang LL3/LL4. through the menus, ma copy nimo ang installer sa desktop pc padulong sa laptop.

or detach that laptop HDD, install Win98 on it using another laptop with CDRM drive, then put it back...
