Default Laptop Cooler Experience... What's yours?

I just bought a COOLER MASTER NOTEPAL yesterday (june 17) and returned it today (june 1. I bought it hoping my 70-80 C temperature on both cores of my AMD Turion X2 might go down while playing Call of Duty 4. But to my surprise, the core temps became very stable. Stable at staying above 80 C!

Has anyone tried using a better laptop cooler?

It doesnt really lower your core temps but helps lower temps of the base of your entire laptop which affects other peripherals with in those areas.

@meming...1st kana amd turion taas jud na temp mao bitaw dili kaau na popular sa ato region kai init ta, other countries like US , CANADA,ok na didto, but anyway ok raman na gamit ka cooler it helps a little, also aircon judka kung magduwa ka also ang critical nato na temp sa laptop 100 man pod dayun mo restart or auto shutdown na.

    ako asus m50sv c2duo 1.83ghz

    AC mode
    idle non-aircon 56 C------aircon 47 C
    gaming " " 68-72 C------ " 58-65 C

    Battery mode
    less 5 C

Here's what i did with mine:

Remove the processor, cleaning and removing the old (stock) thermal paste and put a new IC Diamond "24 Carat" thermal compound.

Now, average temp is 40 C idle and 55 C fully loaded.

note: my lappy is also using an Antec Black Notebook Cooler w/ Two Ball-bearing Fans

wahehehe, is this your Cooler Master Notepal? If it is using power through USB Port, then its not helping since by drawing energy from the USB Port, your laptop generates more heat. JHNPL suggestion will work, but it might ruin your laptop warranty if its still under warranty, if not then go ahead plus Try to have your Cooler Master be tweaked, making it generate power from a wall outlet. Doing both, will help your laptop a lot not to get fried!

    > exactly the unit i had for 24 hours! nisamot gyud ka init... hehe... good riddance!

    @muzikfreakah
I guess you have a point there but even the area around the bottom of my unit got hotter...

    > to the one that suggested changing the thermal paste, sorry I can't void the warranty for now...

    conclusion:
    > Aircon nalang gyud ko magduwa ug maayo... Plus, using a PHONE DIRECTORY to lift the unit from the ground giving it space for the fans to take out the heat from the inside works a lot better than a cooler!
