Thumbs up GAS (Fuel) saving tips-----share ta para maka-save ta tanan

Mga bossing, daghan na man nga topic nga nahimo nga indirectly related ani nga topic dah....
One thread talked about mileage for every car, and some other topic....

this topic is supposedly mas importante kaysa ato nila tanan so I might as well open up this thread na lang.

On this thread, please share the adjustments you are currently doing with your cars to cope with the latest problem we have on increasing fuel prices.

Sugdan lang nako sa akong gibuhat:

    WEIGHT REDUCTION:
    1. I took out the spare tire sa akong trunk---
generally, you don't need this when you're driving within city limits (or where ga katag ang mga vulcanizing shops). When you're on tubeless tires, kung matunok imo ligid with something sharp, dili pa na mohiyos dayon as long as dili nimo tangtangon ang nakatunok... just continue driving 'til you see a vulcanizing shop..
You can use also a tire they call "donut tire" as a spare tire.. mas gaan ni siya kay mas nipis
If mahadlok jud ka nga maka-run flat ka, buy the "fix-a-flat" nga liquid nga naa sa Cartruck center sa sm. I bought a couple of this and so far it worked for me...it's like a liquid chemical nga moseal daw small holes sa imo ligid automatically. There is also a pressurized version nga maka inflate sa imo car nga nahiyosan...check it out.

    2. I took out the other unnecessary things, baseball bat (pangbunal sa kung knsay magpabuang buang..hehehe, <2kilos), extra sapatos (<2kilos), books (5 kilos) (kanang himoon nimiong kwarto imo car LOL)
[for my charade, I removed the back seats and the aircon parts including compressor- practical for me kay dool ra man ako work sa balay so i don't need the aircon and only my GF ang mosakay so walay extra seats sa likod]

    3. Para sa mga drivers like me who could not afford a full tank everytime-- it came out for me nga mas maayo ang dili full tank ang car....why? again, less weight....why need a full tank and carry that weight when you can refuel almost anywhere in the city?

    SMOOTHER DRIVING:
You can actually save more fuel if kalma ka nga mo-drive. There were times nga hot kaayo ko mo-drive but all I got from that is higher fuel consumption, danger sa ubang motorist, and bad mood para sa ako GF. Ug smooth imo driving, you get exactly the opposite plus being a smooth driver actually requires concentration and by doing so ang imong driving skills mo improve......"don't fight your car---sudden acceleration, sudden brakes, forcing the steering wheel, etc"

    AIRCON:
I turn the aircon off when---- walay abog ang dalan, after every rain, dawn, early morning

    WARMING UP:
Instead nga maghulat ko ug dugay dugay para ma warm-up ang engine, I give it just mga 20 seconds lang then drive lang ko hinay hinay [until maabot na ang normal operating temp].

    Naa pa jud diay bro....
gamay lang kaayo ug difference pero there should be a difference:
Gas-up/refuel whenever it's cold (ga-ulan o kadlawon) kay at these times bugnaw ang fuel so compressed sya gamay compared kung init siya.....so you get more fuel for the same price kung bugnaw ang panahon...hehehehe.. theoretically naa jud difference.....

Lagi bro.. I was shocked when this afternoon, I passed by shell and OMG, v-power is at 56+/liter!!!!

    - at intersections kung stop ang traffic light, palungon ang makina.
    - if ga andar ang makina, dapat it is travelling. If naghunong gani, like waiting for someone, palungon gyud ang makina.
    - cover that extra meters or kilometers. Like if the road is somewhat downhill, turn the engine off, let the car glide/travel down naturally...bantay lang kay this is a dangerous manuever.
    - always check tire pressure.
    - if wala ulan, remove your cars body...that way gaan na gyud kaayo imo car....short of saying, pag motorcycle na lang....if wala nag dali, pag bisikleta na lang or if wala lingaw...pag puyo sa balay. hehehe

Bro. try using voltage stabilizer. I put on my civic. its save up to 30% I bought it in Manila or you can also buy on ebay. I think naa sad ni diri.. that's around 4-5000 pesos.. try Car Network, CFC or autofocus or Tri-J

This is how the voltage stabilizer works.

The vehicle's ECU is highly dependant on all sensors that provide data and signals to coordinate different parts in different places of your vehicle. The vehicle's ECU can analyze if the voltage flow on your vehicle is accurate. What this VS does is enhance the voltage and stabilize it, so all the components in your vehicle such as audio, lamps, sensors and electronics work to their maximum potential. By stabilizing the voltage from the battery of your vehicle, the load of the battery is reduced, resulting in increasing engine performance.

    The Benefits

    A. Increase torque and horsepower.
    B. Improve fuel efficiency. Save 10%~25% more gas.
    C. Improve engine response. Quicker Engine Start; Better Throttle Response.
    D. Stabilizes idling as well as increases air conditioning efficiency.
    E. Quick engine start by improving ignition system.
    F. Lesser engine noise.
    G. Optimize electrical equipment performance to extend the lifetime of car.
    H. Build-In Electrical Noise Filter. Reduce stereo's interference and improve the brightness of headlights.

This is how it looks like:

There's a [sort of] famous DIY voltage stabilizer [now at stage 6 daw] circulating around luzon boss. The older version cost 500 to 600 pesos ang latest version, i.e., stage6 cost 1k pesos.. The person has been making this for over a year i think as he offered me one, too last year pero wala lang sa ko kay I tried to make one myself too... Actually there was a diagram and it's just composed of several capacitors. There are also similar diagrams circulating in the net [international car clubs]...

but what I am curious of is ang kanang 10% to 25% savings. mao jud na nakuha nimo boss?...hehehe.. I thnk dako ra kaayo na boss....

depende ra sa car boss and the way you drive.. I made alot of modification of my car so the more horsepower you have and the more mileage can give... the more gas you save.

So I saved up to 30% of my gas. depende sa area. It's reallyTested!

    this is my basic modification.

    1. voltage stabilizer with grounding wire set (japan made) not local made
    2. Air flow high intake filter
    3. Air flow oil filter
    4. Iridium spark plug to increase more spark during acceleration.
    6. hyper tension spark plug wire to deliver better voltage
    7. I remove my headers back to stock kay kalas naka headers.
    8. Nitro's on my tires
    9. always lightweight your car.

and of course basic maintenance of your car:

change oil over 5,000 km/h regular oil
change oil over 10,000 km/h for synthetic oil

    that's it.

thanks for this nice info bro, apply ko ning uban modification sako car.

dba kung mag ilis og high flow intake filter mas mo kalas man og gas? kay theoritically dba, the more air gets inside the engine the more gas it burns. sakto ba?
