i'm talking about american "football".. where they use that oval shaped ball and throw it all the way across the field and whoever catches the ball would get tackled or kanang gukdon gyud cya..Is it supposed to be called rugby?? any football fans out there?? :8O: : :!:

PS.: i am so not a "football" fan, i definitely loathe it.. but i like soccer.. that's why i'm confused.. I NEED EXPLANATION..! thank you na daan ninyong tanan.....

rugby is rugby. pero i call soccer football... i don't get why americans called that game "football" i'm not a fan of the sport either.

American football - uses a lot of paddings and uses hands and feet to play the game .

Rugby - similar to the game of American football though I dont knkow the rules but no safety equipment .

Â*Soccer - uses the head , knee , shoulder , feet except the hands unless ur the goalkeeper .

it's because we are iinfluenced by americans, we call "football", soccer, when fact is it's real name is football. When you talk about Ronaldo, Zidane, Ronaldhino, Beckham, they are football gods. American football is NFL, it is derived from the sport of Rugby.


To make matters short, when you are talking to a european, football is Real Madrid,but when you are talking to an american, Football is NFL.

the whole world calls soccer football... i think the americans are by themselves on the NFL. its not a world-wide adopted sport. i call soccer football just because its the right way to call it. hehe.

NFL kicks ass ... I love American Football... One of the best reasons to get silly-drunk on a Sunday (although right now... my team suck ass).
I don't like football (soccer) cause' it takes forever to score.... it gets boring after awhile... for me anyways.. (same reason why I hate ice hockey... it gets too boring... although the NHL has lots of fights which makes it a bit interesting)
Rugby... I don't watch at all... I don't know the rules so I can't really enjoy it.

Actually, there is a reason why football and rugby are so closely related. Here's how rugby was invented in a nutshell:

According to legends, he almost reached the opponent's goal when someone tackled him to the ground and said, "nice try!" Thus tackling and the term "try" used when a score is made in rugby was born.

Incidentally, Cebu now has a rugby club (the Cebu Dragons) which is continuously inviting people to join. There are two types of rugby games being played by the club - full contact rugby and touch rugby. Touch rugby is similar to playing "tag" - no tackling. Full contact, on the other hand, is as its name suggests. The Cebu Dragons are made up of the Dragons (men's team) and the Pink Dragons (women's team).
