    Default Communism or Martial Law?

These are troubled times in our country. As we are all aware of,the communist movement is becoming active and its tentacles have reached not only the masses but also also the politicans and even some of our military men.Of course we know that each one is serving not the interest of the majority but only their own but of course with the pretext of protecting the country and its people.we could clearly see how greedy for power these personalities have become.Power corrupts and these does not only apply to the communists, politicians but also to some of our men in uniform.
In the latest development of the conflict among the officers of the marines we could see that they were professional and gentlemen enough to settle what had to be settled without blood shed.Of course both the politicians and the left wanted to take advantage of the situation but they failed. The military men did not allow them to intervene and a few hours problem was settled.
We filipinos get nervous when we talk about martial law, why?Personally,I think the military now has become a new breed of military and as we can see they will not be blindly obeyeng orders from whoever is the higher up if the order will cause the downfall of this country..I also think that whoever will lead the country would have second thought about abusing his power using the military because he or she knows that the military now is a thinking military whos priority is to protect the citizenry and our motherland..There could be some military men who are politicized and allow themselves to be used by politicians but we can see that there are only a handfull of them and their popularity among men in uniform are waning.Majority of our men in uniform are people who like us, love their country and are willing to lose their lives preserving the democracy we all now enjoy.

the government has to to what it has to do.
and since we deserve the governement we choose in the first place,
the best thing we can do is to support it... as the long running dictum
says "ask not what your country can do to you but what you can do
for your country"...Â* when can we filipinos stop pulling each other?
protests and rallies are only needed when there is a clear and present
danger that the government cannot control or is not doing anything
to improve our economy... our country's economy becomes more unstable
with these threat the government is facing... and granting that a new
people power will overthrow this present government, do we all think that
the economy will be better? of course not! we will then again be back to
square one... the rich people wont mind this at all, but we the poor majority
are to suffer from all this chaos brought about by these power hungry personalities
who only think of themselves and their interest..

neither...much better a federal type of government just like the US..provinces would have to become states...states having separate laws/rules..Federal Republic of the Philippines (hehe)

i agree with rusted..to whatever type of gov't a certain country is into..it will not make an impact as to it's progress..it totally depends on the persons we voted for (to run the gov't) and the whole populace...

well, communism works for cuba, at least for their healthcare system which is second to none and for their educational system, evident in the country's extremely high literacy rate.

i'm doubtful if it will work here though.

let's research more about the said topics before we make any more strong comments about them.
