Are you on the internet? The internet may help. If you can post here, you can search the internet for millions of tutorials on every distro. If you do not have the motivation to search and find information on your own, you shouldn't be using Linux.

Seriously though, that may sound mean, but if you do not show any motivation in helping yourself, you are NEVER going to learn to use Linux. Asking questions without even putting an installation CD in is lazy. People who answer the most basic questions about Linux instead of redirecting them to where they can find information themselves is just stroking their own egos. Not only is Linux so varied, there is no help anyone can give here about installation that hasn't already been answered by tutorials of the distro itself.
Vern has a point, Linux now is a lot user friendly than before, so you can experiment by yourself, it was a lot difficult before when I started using RedHat 7.2 on an x486 and gui was really slow and I have to do most of the work in console.
(nangalot sa tingkoy)
mao btaw na, nag ask ko sa help. ang ako lng, is I am asking for help those who are willing to help me. Anyway, I look already in the internet also. In my case, mas maau pa jud kung ang mo tudlo nmo ang experiensyado na and I thought F u ask for help for the same citezenship tudluoan ka ug sakto not an insult. The reason why I ask for help in estrya, para atlease aside from my research, matagaan sad ko ug links or other resources. Sa ato pa d i let say kung naa jud mo ask sa mga taga estoryans nga ibutang ta beginners jud kaau, bag o pa lng jud, instead nga tabangan, insultohon d i hinuon. bato bato sa langit ang tamaan wag magalit.
I know how you feel duching. A year ago, I didn't know anything about Linux. Fortunately, I asked the same question you did in the right forum (not this one) where people treat newbies kindly.
And Sir Vern, since when did helping others become "stroking one's ego"? Dude, that's how FOSS works. We help each other, especially newbies. If helping others is "stroking one's ego", then bashing hapless newbies is called arrogance.
Give a man a fish and you will feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you will feed him for a lifetime. Tell me where I bashed him. Tell me where I insulted him. Just because I do not sugarcoat what is simply meant as "use the internet" doesn't mean I've demeaned him in any way. That is not arrogance. Arrogance is acting like a teacher when the wealth of information is at his fingertips. What do you propose to teach him? The installation process of every distro? Do you propose to teach him which distro to use? ... that has already been discussed here a million times. Documentation for many distros are very easy to follow. Installations for many distros themselves are easier than Windows. So tell me again, what can you teach him that he cannot google himself or browse the many many many threads about Linux and distros already here? That sir is stroking one's ego. FOSS does not aim to spoonfeed those unwilling to look into the subject beforehand. Take his question to any Linux forum or usergroup and he will get the same answer from them as he did from me ... or no answer at all ... except maybe for those who want to pretend they know what they are doing by teaching those who know nothing. He is better served by reading the forums and looking at the other Linux threads here ... if he is willing to even do that.
