you have to beat heroes mode to unlock characters:

kakashi and guy - easy
gaara - normal
orochimaru, tsunade, jiraiya - hard
itachi and kisame - insane

you have to beat one level before you can go to the next

as for jutsu, all characters have 2 jutsu, which can be executed by down + down + (attack) and up + up + (attack).

ultimate attack can be executed by pressing (chakra) and attacking while you still have the blue aura on . (this will not work if charkra isn't full - bar below health)

to charge chakra, press and hold down.

combos for the character you are using can be viewed by going to the options menu during a battle.

****i used (attack) and (chakra) instead of X O [] /\ coz i modified the buttons that i used from the default ones.
