Measurement : 2, 968 hectares (12 interconnecting chambers)
Rank: So far, the biggest karsts cave in Southeast Asia, if not in the whole
continent, according to 1987 Australian-French Caver’s survey.
Hardness : Major Activity, Level 3, Moderate Caving
Jump Off Points : Brgy. Panayuran, & Brgy. Mapaso, Calbiga, Samar
Normal Days Required : 7 straight days to explore every corner (sumps excluded)
For this particular TRIP : 4 days & 3 nights inside the cave (plus 1 day travel time outside)
Distinct Characteristics : Hilly karsts landscape with steep slopes, caves and impermeable rock
formations, mix horizontal and vertical wet and dry passages
Features: Huge stalagmites & stalactites, giant columns, underground
watercourses, rapids, blindfish, snakes and dancing bats are
also present in the area.
