thats a very good news nga nidaghan na sila dre kay maka ingon ta nga stable na ang economy sa Pilipinas sa laing bahin mka ingon sad ta basin gipul-an nana sila didto sa america tungod anang racial descrimination....ang pag pauli ana nila dre sa atong nasud naa gyud hinooy advantage ug dis-advantages....kay naa man gud uban nga mag pa fil-am2x lang aron maka duwa sa example sa PBA or uban pang sports! mao nay disadvantage dha! pero ang advantage kay inig uli nila dire naa gyud ni sila dala dollars! so mao ra na akong masulti bahin ani nila....kamo unsa man inyung masulti?
i agree with you nga naka tabang gyud ni sila tnuod sa atong economy... la sad ta kbw nalubong na diay ni sila sa ilang mga utang sa america..hehehe.. ang america bya nabuhi ang mga taw sa utang.. hehe..
Mga FIL-AM na naa sa Cebu ? FEELING AMERICAN !!

There's one other reason why these kids go home para maoskwela kay mahal man college diri dili kaafford ang parents. Which means, to American standards pobre sila diri coz their parents can't afford to send them to college. Pila ra gud ka percent of Americans nga maka college, so kwartahan gyud kau ka before makapaeskwela kas mga anak. Although lahi gyud kung ari mograduate sa ilang studies than there, unless nursing ilang gikuha kay OK ra, although naa deperensya when they come back here and work. I haven't gone to school here yet but my sister did, ana siya mas competitive gyud ug ang degree diri nakuha. That's why she's working part-time and studying at the same time.
Kids are very different here gyud. Very independent, grade school pa gani schools tell them about their rights, may kaayo manubag. I have a baby and a coming one too, medyo challenged ko to raise them the Filipino way despite the fact naa sila diri's America. Especially kana gyung respect for their parents and elders.
Another thing, ug mga tisoy tisay kaayo mas daku sila kita diha ug mag showbiz or sports (LOL) lame kaayo nga career noh? Pero the money is good.
well, i agree to you with that. taas jud hnuon ang standards diri sa amerika. plus, f you're poor, you're really not considered poor. let me explain.. the poverty line here in america is somewhere between (i think) $10,000-$14,000 a year. so if you make that amount of money in a year for the entire household, you're considered poor. but again, what's considered poor in america might just be another rich family in a third world country considering the fact that poor in america owns cars, washing machines, fridge, cellphone, etc. well, ni share lang ko.Originally Posted by n`gel
but anyways back to the topic...earning a degree in america makes you a whole lot competitive person anywhere in the world. im just wondering why these fil-am guys go home to get a college degree when they can do it here. i can be an example.( it's not that nanghambog ko or whatever) but im a college student here in america as of now. but take note, my parents can't afford to put me into college. they just don't make enough dollars to put me into college. but still, im here. what's nice here is that even if your parents can't afford to put you to college there are student loans around, and financial aids. and what's more, the government is very much willing to help you pay for your expenses.. that's what i do here and in our college, 90% of students receive financial aids and student loans. wa juy gasto akng parents skong skwela. if kugihan lang ka and willing ka mu work part time to pay for your books and on-campus expenses, then you're good to go. tapulan lang kaau ning uban amerikano mao mostly nila wlay college degree. contento lang og high school graduate kay nag salig lagi. but kung imong huna2xon, naa na nila tanan resources.
sakto gyud ka jugs,Â* students here have allÂ* the resources that you mentionedÂ* above.Â* so itÂ* does not makeÂ* sense ngano adto sila mo eskwela.Â* i went to school hereÂ* forÂ* a fewÂ* semesters before kay angÂ* akong BA degree sa tua way ayo deri, though wa ko kahuman dinhi butÂ* i know howÂ* expensive it can get maski saÂ* community college raÂ* ko. Â* you can get all theÂ* help that you want here labi na straight A student ka kay daghan ko classmate nga nieskwela ngaÂ* wa gyud tabangi saÂ* ilangÂ* parents maski allowance lang..
anyway, anotherÂ* Â*reason is the parents areÂ* divorced, lisodÂ* deri ugÂ* singleÂ* parent maski naa pay alimony nga madawat mao nga mouli nangÂ* ubanÂ* saÂ* atoa if there exes don'tÂ* mind.Â*
