depends on which xeon you're referring to...

and the core 2 quad q6600 at around 11k 2.4ghz

between a xeon 3210/3220 vs a c2q6600

almost same ra..socket 775

higher ang voltage sa xeon..

but for l the above stated procs..the e8400 can beat them all in some bench..except for some multicore enable apps. such as ray tracing.

but..O.T.

Depende sa purpose. Xeons are for very heavy processing like servers and top of the line workstations (if you compile like 1 million lines of code)
Imagine 4 of these in a quad processor board

Ang Core 2 Quad is mostly for multimedia and pede pud heavy processing.

That is not always the case, Remember the P4 era where it had more than 2x the cache of the A64.
