Graffiti Expressions 2008
…is an open category competition in collaboration with Microsoft for amateur and professional computer artists and graphic designers.
Participants are asked to show the world how their concept masterpiece breathes new life into digital graffiti art. Participants must create convincing and powerful images that show emotion and passion, it’s about being active, extroverted and vivid. Send in your works that display these fine qualities in a way that shows you are unafraid to take risks. Celebrate your digital art with us and have a chance to put your work and your name where everyone can see it.
The Style of the contest is “Graffiti Art”
The Theme of the contest is “The Environment”
The Prizes
Grand prize winner: php6’000 + goods of matching value
First runner-up: php3’000 + goods of matching value
Second runner-up: php2’000 + goods of matching value
The Process
1. Interested parties must submit entries using the theme “The Environment” no later than Wednesday March 19, 2008. See How to Enter below
2. From the entries, BITE Magazine will select thirty (30) individuals to participate in a FREE weekend training session for Microsoft Expression Studio (use of MS Expression Software) to be scheduled on March 29 & 30. Short-listed participants will be contacted by phone & email, and the list of 30 will be published in website
3. On Day 2 of MS Expressions training weekend, three (3) individuals will be chosen as finalists, based on output rendered using Microsoft Expression Studio
4. The three (3) finalists move on to the event night at Loft on April 4, 2008 for the final round. The digital output of the three (3) finalists will be judged for their on-the spot interpretation of a design problem/theme.
Awarding
The awards ceremony and Graffiti Expressions night will be held at Loft, IT Park, Lahug on April 4th 2008 from 8:30pm

Originality – 45%
Composition – 25%
Impact – 30%

The contest is open to all students, amateurs and professionals
The Deadline
All entries must be submitted on or before March 19, 2008
How to Enter
1. Entry submission will be open from March 1 – 19, 2008
2. All entries must be digitally rendered/manipulated
3. Photos, images, symbols and artworks whose copyrights belong to another person/company will not be accepted.
4. Submit a maximum of 1 (one) entry based on your interpretation of the theme. A soft (digital copy at 72dpi, not exceeding 1mb in file size) and hard (A4 size print) copy is required per entry.
5. Entries should include the name of the artist, home address, contact number, email address, and a brief rationale of the artwork submitted (1 paragraph, 150 words max).
6. All entries shall be submitted to the addresses indicated below
