go messenger for PSP: HELP

hi guys..i already converted my psp to 3.40-OE-A, it plays homebrew and even new games and i saw this new ad about the go messenger..
question: if i upgrade my psp to 3.90 to avail the go messenger will the setting of my psp will all change?or it just add some new features and it can still play homebrew stuff.

i searched ang found out that go messenger works only in european region. used the fake region ang go messenger icon is already seen in the xmb. wala pa lang na release.
