Guys, naa mo nahibaw-an nga websites nga maayo pagka-SEO? Can you list them? And, if you know how they did it, list them as well. This will be a good resource for those who are learning SEO.

just type any borad topic you can think of in an search engine then the 1st site should be it... from my knowledge it's the links that matters the most...

I doubt if all websites 1st on the page 1 search result of a search engine has been SEOed thoroughly. For example, if I search "istorya", this forum comes out 1st on the list. Is this site been SEOed thoroughly? I don't think so!

Yes, you do have a point! Can you list specific and common websites you have known which have been thoroughly SEOed? And how they have done it.

SEO or Search Engine Optimization is a long and tiring job but well-compensated too. Many websites are spending thousands of dollars to get on the top list. Why would they do that? Simple, because people are too lazy to click on the 'second' page of the Google's search result.

Now, if you have an online store, you need to be on top of that list. If you do, your website will be deluged with thousands of visitors every day. The more visitors you have, the greater the chances of making money. Traffic = Money.

SEO is keyword based. Meaning, if your site talks about 'green widget' then use that keyword to optimize it. So, for instance people will search for 'green widget' and your site is on the number list, you know what will happen next.

One example cited above is if you do a search for the word 'istorya.net', automatically this site will be on the number one list. Why?, well the answer is simple this site has already got a good pagerank but most importantly the URL of this site is already the keyword you searched. This brings us one of the techniques in SEO, use the keyword as your website name.

There are dozens of ways for a good SEO technique. You just need to learn them one at a time.

How many websites do you think that uses "Istorya" as one of their keywords?Its a term exclusive to Cebu only so its easy to rank it up on the SE. I can easily rank up a word "TAE" or "TOBOL" if you want me too. If you have an online shop then optimized it using specific keywords. E.g. Do not optimize for the word "camera" instead try "dcs-X3200 camera". People who are searching for the word "camera" are mostly info diggers. While those searching specific terms like "dcs-X3200 camera" are mostly buyers.

If you have store site, how are you going to do SEO on your products so that when someone searches a product on your list, it will surely come out first page on SE? A friend of mine said, of course every product on the list has a full product information on it, so every page showing the full information of the product, you will place its product name on the meta keywords tag.

I don't know about this one but one thing I've noticed is that google's crawlers couldn't crawl as much as it want to on dynamic pages, static pages usually appears on top of the results.. I think you've noticed it too..

i'll give you an example of a dynamic page:
http://www.yourdomainname.com/produc...duct_name=ipod

but if you could make some tweaks and make it look like a static page like this
http://www.yourdomainname.com/gadgets/ipod/

for sure google would be in favor to list your product above the list...
What I'm trying to share about is a technical application for SEO which is the "mod_rewrites" or if you are using some CMS like wordpress they call it "permalinks"

I have a website too which is http://www.cebudirectories.com still on its BETA version and its a dynamic page. I've been planning to release its Version 1.0 early this month, I've made a lot changes mainly on the scripting side and a few of the SEO since my website is not that known to public but sure its a promising one!

I just learned them through forum boards since forums could always link me to some better SEO sites..
