    Default Apple mocking Windows

    http://www.xbitlabs.com/web/display/20060112144752.html

The television ad of Apple claims that for years, Intel’s chips have been “trapped inside PCs – dull little boxes, dutifully performing dull little tasks.” Now, the voiceover proclaims, the Intel processor will finally be set free, according to ZDNet UK.

From what I see in this form of Advertisement is one of the dumbest Apple has ever done. Modders out there, don't you find this insulting?

dull but not stupid, have u notice sa AD's sa apple -their will be an ordinary person or a celebrity talking how easy to use a mac, from wat i observe this guys "maybe" dont know how to use a PC or lazy enough to know how, so MAC's are for low IQ people heheee

apple/mac systems are just expensive. and i agree with for the low IQ people. i mean even a 6 year old kid can learn how to use a pc. and for the performace, i just love gaming which mac systems literally dont support very well.

This forum is dominated by Windoze users and I know that mac users like me (I have a gaming pc too fyi) are outnumbered. lol. I really disagree on the thought that mac users are dumb or low IQ people.

IMHO, I believe that OSX Tiger (based on my experience) is more efficient in using the hardware compared to Windows XP. As of today (no vista yet), OSX is the best OS unless gaming is what's your after for a computer. No offense on Windows users but Both OS has its own advantages and disadvantages.

So are we suppose to worship Apple for finally opening up the full potential of Intel chips? Yeah right. Steve Jobs can kiss my ass. Who gives a crap really. I use AMD chips anyway.

Guys!! lighten up!! i dnt know why would intelligent people get so work up with Apple's marketing. I was hoping that this topic will go away. All apple is saying is basically "we will show you(PC users) what we can do with X86 platform and free your mind" (really? no more viruses?). Relax its not the end of the world. Its kinda funny how HP & some PC vendors reacted to this, it was like " Us (HP) boring? we have desktop PC models that colored black!!!! what boring?". Such tight asses.

@fd how about this: why would people mod their Computers? Related that to what apple said about "dull little boxes".

@koto: If you add up the number of hour people lost in maintaing a PC(Scan for viruses&spyware, reformating every few months) & modding it to make it mo attractive, it will come up as expensive if not more than a Mac over the course of time. I think its wise to spend more time doing actual work dont you think?

And then there this arguement about "security throught obscurity". Countless security flaws that came out with all the details to reverse engineer an exploit but no one took advantage. No one hack iTunes were over $800 million worth of downloads have occured, thats alot of music, how come no hacker has taken control in downloading music for free?

I own a gaming PC(the only thing windows does best) at home and majority of my time is doing microstation & ADT(apps that will not do a Mac version) at office. I im not being one sided on this issue, but i dont understand why such hatefull reactions. The fact is that Microsoft will always be the dominant player and apple will alwas be the R&D of Windows.

When you actually think about it. Computers were "supposed" to be built for the common user. It was invented to make work easier and faster. Sorry to burst your bubble but it was never meant for modders and "other intelligent beings".

Even back then, Apple can run it's GUI on 256K memory on the MAC SE. And how many MBs did we need to windows 3.1? Graphics-wise Mac is an international standard for publishers, printers and professional graphic artists.
