code-switching is a fad. politicians do it all the time.
in fact, all languages do this which is why our spelling rules are such a mess.
i figure some words work better in one language than the other, and since most know cebuano, spanish and english, it's not surprising that we mix all 3 languages together.
i'm totally okay with those who have difficulty expressing themselves in one language,
especially when asked to speak in a language that is not his/her native one. not a problem at all.. we all do.
but for the annoying individuals who mix english and filipino words while purposely exaggerating it with an english twang, that's just beyond me. OA-ness. lol.

Beau, you're not actually complaining about "cebglish" per se, you're complaining about the "Kaartehan" of the people who constantly use cebglish to make themselves appear "better than the rest" or "a notch higher on the social ladder". You meet these kind of people daily...at work, in the jeepney, in a public bathroom. Some of them seem genuinely raised by it (i.e. that's how they talk in their household, it's normal for them) and those people I can tolerate...what I cannot tolerate are those nga klaro kaayo they started only doing it AFTER arriving in Cebu and got themselves a call center job, then they noticed that's how people talk in Cebu, and they start talking that way--kana ang mga types nga lami i-lampaso ang nawong sa sidewalk.

^simbako palayo nga ingon ana na manulti ang mga tawo sa cebu.

it's supposed to be EOP (English Only Policy), not halu-halo speak.
