Default Re: Hypertension or High Blood Pressure

Our company doctor diagnosed me as hypertensive.

Everytime mo visit ko sa amo clinic, mag pa BP reading ko...sa bata-bata pa ko, usually 120/80 gyud ko. pero karon, my readings are usually 130/90 or 140/110 or 130/100. Kada adto nako sa clinic mao na ako reading. So, gitaga-an ko ug something for 10days. After 10days gipabalik ko sa clinic...still ako reading kay 130/90. Again, lain na pud nga tambal. This time good for 30days na. One week after sa 30days nga medication...balik na pud sa clinic. Unya 130/90 man gihapon ko...so, gitaga-an na gyud ko ug maintenance drug. Unya ni proclaim ang doctor...You are now enrolled to the university...welcome to the club. The first med nga iya gihatag kay Co-Diovan...sus, grabe to kay malipong man ko adtong tambala. So, giilisan ug LIFECZAR...murag ok na. I can get BP readings of 109/72.

Gipa executive check-up/lipid panel ko...everything was normal except my blood pressure and my fatty liver. So, gitagaan ko ug ESSENTIALE for fatty liver. Unya tingali daw tungod sa ako work mao na high blood ko...kafaet!

My diet is usually veggies or I usually eat only the veggies in a meat mixed meal. i prefer fish/beef. And only have bread and coffee for breakfast. Tingali in a week I eat at least 2 sunny side up eggs. Pero dili ko pili-an ug pagkaon. If unsay naa dinha sa lamesa nga idalit...agwantahon na lang.

Exercise? I sit in front of the computer(mind exercise) around 12hours a day.
*** an exercise? tingali, kay I do it at least 3x a week, at least two hours per session...hehehe
Walking? less than 500meters a day ra tngali.
    Running? none.
Water? I drink a lot...sige man gani ko pangihi....siempre sa CR.

I am not alone diay. Last january i officially got my warning from my doctor that I am in my stage 2 hypertension. My doctor's finding really alarmed me because I am still young with two little kids pa and gwapa nga asawa. Before, lami jud kaayo ikaon og humba nga murag dos por dos ang tambok, crispy chicken skin, lechon, and anything nga mantikaon. Plus, grabe jud kaayo ko mukaon, mura og mahutdan og hinukad.

Now, I am in the stage of rehabilitating my health. I quit my job and start a freelance selling career so that I could have enough time to exercise daily. Quaker Oat is now my morning buddy. No more fatty foods and goodbye to crispy chicken skin. I started eating veggies and fish also. After my first month of changing my lifestyle, my weight, bp, and bad cholesterol level went down. I am very determined to continue this new healthy lifestyle until I will hit my desired weight and shape.

i suggest DASHing. Dietary Approach to Stop Hypertension.

The Philippine Society of Hypertension (PSH) recommended recently a specialized diet plan for adults suffering from abnormal blood pressure after noting more that than 10 million Filipinos are suffering from hypertension and half of them do not know their condition.
The experts recommended the Dietary Approach to Stop Hypertension (DASH) diet that promises to lower blood pressure by the eighth week, as found in a study published in 1997 by the New England Journal of Medicine.
The eating plan requires the person to avoid processed foods that are high in sodium and cut down on total fat and saturated fat intake while getting at least eight to 10 servings of potassium-rich fruits and vegetables and three servings of low-fat dairy products which are high in magnesium and calcium daily.
Whole grains, fish, poultry, nuts, seeds and dried beans or legumes are also recommended in the DASH diet.
The DASH diet disallows eating processed foods such as snack items, luncheon meats, and canned soups to lower the amount of sodium in the diet.
Rich sources of potassium are fruits and vegetables, while low-fat dairy products are high in calcium and magnesium.
DASH recommends eight to ten servings of fruits and vegetables and three servings of low-fat dairy products each day.
“Cut down on both saturated fat and total fat. Fats are good sources of calories but only 30 percent of one’s total calories should be from fat, with only seven to 10 percent from saturated fats. Saturated fat is abundant in meat, cheese, butter, poultry, snack foods and other processed foods,” the DASH diet said.
High blood pressure is when blood pressure is consistently equal to or higher than 140/90 mmHg.
“In high-risk patients with diabetes, previous heart attack or stroke, chronic kidney disease and multiple risk factors, the BP should be ideally less than 130/80 mmHg,” Dr. Dante Morales, PSH vice president said.
There are non-modifiable risk factors of hypertension. This is why the doctors recommend lifestyle change for people who have a high risk factor for hypertension because of these non-modifiable risk factors such as family history, gender, race or age.
“There’s nothing that can be done about these non-modifiable risk factors but one can influence his other risk factors to prevent hypertension and metabolic disorders such as diabetes and hypercholesterolemia,” Dr. Lynn Gomez, PSH treasurer said.

I've been diagnosed to be hypertensive at age 25. At first, I though it was stress-related because of work. But after more tests were conducted, doctors discovered that something was wrong with my kidney. They addressed the problem and now i'm no longer hypertensive.
    unsai findings sa imong kidney?

My father started experiencing hypertension about a year ago. He is on pills now. It has to be noted, the first drugs that his doctor prescribed him made him suffer from headaches. I checked the info on the Canada Pharmacy site and it turned out to be one of the side effects. So, his doctor changed the prescription. Now he is doing fine.
