brayt kaau ka do! hehehe... sayop diay ko... ang BGP kay ang imong isa ka router i-multihome nimo sa 2 or more routers.

ang sa imo problem, kay ang imong LAN has 2 routers as gateway then connected to 1 router.

hmmm..... nag wonder ko bro unsaon pag configure sa imong host sa imong LAN aron mo autoswitch sya ug gateway if mo fail ang usa. ... thru dhcp?

    interesting problem ni da.

based on my knowledge/experience BGP setup is multihomed with one router. ambot lang kong ing.ani nga setup we'll never know, basin mo dagan.

however, configuring BGP is not on my instructions

it says "he also want to implement a high availability protocol defined in RFC 2281."

    you guys should follow instructions

    Interesting gyud kaau...

I think, wala kay problemahon sa Host side. Ang problem is sa router side.

Quote lang nako ang RFC 2281:

Multiple routers participate in this protocol and in concert create the illusion of a single virtual router. The protocol insures that one and only one of the routers is forwarding packets on behalf of the virtual router. End hosts forward their packets to the virtual router.

    ----------------

GW would be the virtual router or May be you can use either of the router as GW, HRSP na bahala mo forward sa imo packets to the Virtual Router Basa pako balik sa RFC 2281.

    Discuss sa nato ang HSRP...

    Master gyud ni si rommel...

    I think this would work...

    on R1:
    ip add 172.16.6.5 255.255.255.0
    standby 1 ip 172.16.6.254
    standby 1 priority 150
    standby 1 preempt
    standby 1 track serial 0 50

    on R2:
    ip add 172.16.6.6 255.255.255.0
    standby 1 ip 172.16.6.254
    standby 1 preempt

    Host1:
    ip 172.16.6.3
    sm 255.255.255.0
    gw 172.16.6.254

    Host2:
    ip 172.16.6.2
    sm 255.255.255.0
    gw 172.16.6.254

    Host3:
    ip 172.16.6.1
    sm 255.255.255.0
    gw 172.16.6.254

"Using HSRP we will create virtual ip to be our gateway. R1 will be the priority router, and R2 will be the standby router. R1 will monitor serial 0 and decrement its priority number to 50 if it goes down. Preemption will trigger R2 to be the priority router since its priority number
    is 100 by default "
