Suffer From Excessive Sweating? You're Not Alone

Fortunately, there are many simple non-invasive and inexpensive treatments that are enormously effective with this challenge.
The first step is to reduce grains and sugars in your diet, as this has an enormously beneficial effect on hyperhidrosis.
The other answer is not to pile on aluminum-containing antiperspirants (the aluminum builds up in your system and has been linked to Alzheimer"s) or to cut out the nerves that cause sweating, which a past study actually recommended.
A very simple and much better alternative is to wash under your arms with a mild soap once a day to remove the bacteria. I have rarely found anyone who requires more than twice a day washings to remove the bacteria and secondary odors.
Normally, sweating occurs for one of two reasons. The first is that you need to cool down. The second reason is that your sympathetic nervous system (the part of your nervous system responsible for the "flight or fight" response) is stimulated. This usually occurs when you are anxious or fearful of something.
Generally deep breathing exercises work quite well for this. It may take some time to develop the technique. I recommend the book Conscious Breathing by Gay Hendricks as one of the best resources out there. He also has a video that demonstrates the technique. Generally it is far wiser to treat the cause and when that is not successful one needs to seek the least harmful long-term solution possible.
Another great tool for relieving stress and anxiety, which are both often associated with hyperhidrosis, is the Insight CD, which I personally listen to and recommend to all of my patients. It is an exceptional tool that will help you dramatically reduce the stress triggers that occur in your daily life.
