In a country where globalization is being hailed and trumpeted as the key to the country's economic progress (look around you, look at all those multinational/transnational corporations sprouting here and there), this yearning to "preserve Filipino Culture, Traditions and Religious beliefs" somewhat runs against the grain of this drive.
