Thread: RELIGION

Of course, which is every passage in the Bible, including those in the books the Protestants took out-- because it makes Sola Scriptura and Sola Fide look invisible...until you read it into the passages, which is such a faulty method.
Every passage except Revelation 17 and 18 where God calls the RCC the "harlot".

I wonder why people of the RCC immediately dub those who aren't part of their system as "protestant" or "born again".... even Steve Ray who used to be of the Baptist denomination called himself an Evangelical Protestant for the goal of stereotyping those who know the truth about Rome.

And what books did these so called "protestants" take away? The Apocrypha - that the RCC arbitrarily added to the Book of Life?

Any specific system of belief about deity, often involving rituals, a code of ethics, and a philosophy of life is Religion.
" Thus we would include Agnosticism, Atheism,Catholicism, conservative Christianity, Humanism, Islam, Judaism, liberal Christianity, Native American Spirituality, Wicca and other Neopagan traditions as religions.

religion: Oxford dictionary definition (theistic): "1 the belief in a superhuman controlling power, esp. in a personal God or gods entitled to obedience and worship. 2 the expression of this in worship. 3 a particular system of faith and worship." Non-Theistic definition: "The word religion has many definitions, all of which can embrace sacred lore and wisdom and knowledge of God or gods, souls and spirits. Religion deals with the spirit in relation to itself, the universe and other life. Essentially, religion is belief in spiritual beings. As it relates to the world, religion is a system of beliefs and practices by means of which a group of people struggles with the ultimate problems of human life." (Hubbard, 1994).

seems like the debated subject was about Catholics and Christianity and the like. It is not the only religion.

    Religion cannot save one's soul.

Ah, the most beloved accusation anti-Catholics throw at the Church. Simplest answer: Wrong side of the river-- the Tiber River, that is.

Granting that "mountains" in 17:9 are translated as "hills" (as anti-Catholics insist to their heart's content), Vatican City, of which the Roman Catholic Church is headquartered is built on only one hill-- Vatican Hill --and its not even one of the seven "hills" the verse speaks off-- those "hills" are on the east side of the Tiber river; Vatican Hill is on the west. Instead, Istanbul, Turkey is better qualified than Vatican City because it is "The City with Seven Hills".

But then again, the enemies of Mother Church want to read their anti-Catholicism, as they did with the wrong doctrines of Sola Fide and Sola Scriptura, into the passages of the Bible.

What's your next sissy shot: La Salette's "Rome will lose the faith and become the Seat of Antichrist"?

As if Martin Luther did not include your so-called "Apocrypha" in his German translation of the Bible in 1546, the same as with the Council of Trent. Same with the first King James Version of 1611 and in the Guttenberg Bible-- the first Bible ever printed a century before the Council of Trent. In fact, these books were included in almost every Bible until the Edinburgh Committee of the British Foreign Bible Society excised them in 1825. Until then, they had been included at least in an appendix of Protestant Bibles. Protestants arbitrarily took out God-breathed stuff from the Book of Life is more like it.

    Shalom.

    What? It already has!

That's NOT literal you know. Rome, historically IS the City of 7 hills.

For close to 2 millenia it already has! A personality that has ascribed to itself every single Messianic attribute that makes Christ unique

And you seem to forget verse 17: 15 (connected to Daniel 7: 23 ) proving beyond a doubt that God condemns the RCC for their heterodoxal ways! ;b

This is not a copy past thread. Just share your own raw ideas and thoughts, if possible minimize copy pasting.

But then, we need supporting articles or document on some ways... well...

    Peace!

in fairness to mrbiddle, copy-pasting is a good thing since it supports claims/arguments coz we really ddnt know what really happened during the ages where humanity started to acknowledge "religions" as the bases of their faith.

and in fairness also to some forumers here who use copy-pasted articles, it was worth reading some post-replies since they are informative. in fact i do use such tactic to back my side.

duda lang nako ha... duda lang, naa man gud mogamit dri ug copy-edit-read-edit-add a bit to the actual doc-paste-post nga style.

i think mr richard79 started this to know what really is the practical opinion/reaction on the subject. kumbaga, on the spot nga dibdiban ba.

like n'gel, Bolshoi, pisskhanxxx, pandisal ug katong uban pa... mo-post sila according to what they see and feel about it. it wud be very interesting to know how u view ur spirituality, religion and its environment.

comment lang ni ako ug suggestion sad.

    PEACE nasad!
