really appreciate all your replies guys... i turned 28 already this year. i got myself a job (cuz i used to work for the family-owned internet cafe nga tapad ra sa amu balay)... so i can have more freedom... hehehe... the same ra gihapun akong situation. baby-baby treatment gihapon.

yeah ur right, i am living under my parents' roof, so there's nothing i can do unless i declare my independence, which i can't and would never be allowed to do. my mom's sister who is still single at the age of 40 still even lives with us. my tita bought a house & lot in consolacion, talked to my mom one day to declare her independence, but as expected, nala-in gyud akong mom & mo gawas dayun ang mga pulong nga mura ba og "namuy-boy". so what my tita did, gipa rent nalang nya iyang house and remained sa amu balay.

hay naku, no wonder why my tita (my mom's younger sister) stayed single till the age of 40! now i'm beginning to see where i'm heading... waaaaaah

i've been a good girl all my life and never have i failed to obey what they want for me, but i am 27 years old now and still i can't go out with my boyfriend alone on trips and vacations! there was this one time my mom chaperoned me & my bf on our date, we had lunch, watched a movie -- the 3 of us! and went home right away at 5 pm !!! i'm almost 30! don't i deserve a little freedom? cguro i'm old enuf nmn sad to take control & be responsible of my actions. i'm not a child anymore, i know what i am doing. oh god, i'm so depressed!

we have almost the same prob sis, but the only difference is that my mom doesnt chaperoned me anymore but instead will only allow me to go on trips or vacations if she knows that im with my cousins or to any family friend that we have. im now 30 but my mom is still very protective of me, when i go out for a gimik she always make it a point to text and ask me where i am and ask me what time will i come home blah blah blah... just like you, i have been a good girl all my life and an obedient one if i may add. it's very disappointing to know that they dont have that "trust" in us, as what u have said we are old enough to take responsiblities of our actions and so depressing that we can't go out and enjoy without them asking about our whereabouts, its as if we're going to do something really really "bad". i love my parents that much and i respect them a lot, i dont want them to be disappointed also, so i might as well do what they say ... wheww!!! ... i guess it goes to the fact also that im the youngest in the family and the only single left, i dont know really!! but dang at 30?? and yet still treated like a kid? maybe, when i get married.. for sure everything will change hahahaha .... hahays life!!

i'll be 24 in march and mum and dad still get a bit worried when i go out esp when im driving to somewhere far at night. I just look them in the eye and tell them that I'm going out and that I'll be back. They trust me and they know what kind of ppl my friends are.
