para unsa gud ang gamit sa imu long lens if ever mo buy ka? for portraits? you want that compression sa background? birding? candids? magita ug cats? hahahaha.. bitaw oie.. my opinion is find your niche.. then pangita ug tarong nga lens..

dagahan ko na kit.an nga mga pips mo kuha ug zoom kay gusto mo shoot ug layo then a few weeks later ila i.dispose kay wai gamit or nag collect ra ug abot sa cabinet/drybox.. for short films naka bantay ko mga media mo gamit ug DSLR for video 50mm ra man ang ila i.taod... (which is coverd sa standard 18-55mm kit lens)

my advice is stick with your kit lens... if itchy gud imu kamot try ug borrow ug lens for testing..

this. i too, had made a mistake of buying a third party, cheap, slow, tele zoom as my 2nd lens [in addition to my kitlens]. magamit ra intawn ug ting-init. completely useless in low-light. most of the time, naa ras box nagpahulay. had i known, dritso na unta ko palit ug fast prime.

Hmm....okay, thanks guys! Seriously, this has been great because I've been getting so much knowledge along the way.

Actually, gatan-aw tan-aw na ko sa prime lens, 50mm and magdecide pa jud ko if 1.4 or 1.8 ako kwaun. Medyo mahal lang 1.4. As for Telephoto, ganahan pud ko street photography and nature photography. Ganahan ko especially mu picture mga seaside scenes with people in it, pero dili ko ganahan nga muduol nila kay ma-affect ang mood sa picture...get what I mean?

So for my films, yeah, I think I'm going with 50mm. Thanks guys!

Sa stalker-ish street photog, wala pa ko kadecide....55-250mm?

I got my 50mm yesterday and I'm very happy with it Granted it is on the noisy side when it comes sa AF, pero I prefer MF with my lenses anyway so not much of a bother. Enjoying the bokeh!

As for telephoto, I haven't given up my ambitions on getting one. Is 55-250 a good choice? Or maybe 18-135 na lang? And is 18-135 a good replacement for the 18-55 kit lens? Coz I might sell mine if that's the case so I can get a hold of the 18-135

canon tele lenses are expensive, but you will get what you pay.

i have 70-200 f4 and f2.8 before. i decided to let go of the f4 and change it into 400mm f5.6.

70-200 f4 is a good lens kay sharp and superb focus, pero mo hunt gamay in low light. if you want a tele lens for street photography, go for the 70-200 f4 or 55-250 if dili ka mag FF in the future. If you want for nature, go for 100-400 or 400mm prime.

tamron 70-300 is another good option.

3rd party lenses are also good. pero not as good when you start to crop the images for better details specially sa bird photography. i tried sigma 150-500 OS before but after 2 months akong gi baligya.
