This is the most retarded suggestion I have read on Istorya.net... If you did this you might as well rename Philippines into North Korea.

You can't stop people from leaving the country if the country is unable to provide them with the opportunities for a decent life.

If migration is causing a loss of doctors, nurses, engineers and other talented people then this is the ****ing governments problem, not the peoples.

Limit people from moving abroad? Not only is this suggestion unconstitutional, it is ungrateful and a gross demonstration of crab mentality. OFWs and expats are one of the pillars of our economy, and as such the government should accommodate their needs instead of piling additional restrictions on their already limited means of finding decent livelihood. Murag ang mentality ani is murag panablahay. "Hala, walay muabroad! Diri ra ta tanan sa Pilipinas. Magdungan ta pag-antos sa kapobre!"

We also already have a policy of deplaning people with no criminal record just because an immigration official suspects illegal recruitment. This is all done without due process or a court order so what the TS wants we already have. Freedom of movement is already restricted in our country. If you have seen poor OFWs dragged out of planes by immigration officials, then you know what I'm talking about...

    My authoritarian nature says yes.

But TS, the Philippines is far from being a dictatorial state--The country abides to a competitive global system. The only way the country could keep its white-collar workforce would be to offer opportunities for them. The country has to compete to keep that kind of workforce.

Pareha ra sa GDR sa una TS, you have professionals in East Germany who would risk their lives to cross the wall over to the west, since the opportunities are greater over there--despite stringent immigration/migration laws. Those who stayed are either given great favors by the "party", indoctrinated to believe that Socialism is the right way, or too scared to cross over. So, unless the Philippines is ready to stomach similar authoritarian measures, it had better entice people to stay in the country with promise of better opportunities--or see the trend continue for many years to come.

Almost all of the authoritarian states allow their citizens to go abroad with very few restrictions, including Singapore, China and all the Middle Eastern countries. The only country that restricts its citizens from going overseas is North Korea.

That ain't authoritarianism, it's called turning your country into a prison. As earlier poster said, this is the ultimate expression of crab mentality.

Sad jud...

So mao ma-force nalang ang uban na mag-abroad in order to find a decent job...

I think much better if tangtangon nang 60/40 na nakabutang sa constitution... If magtukod ang foreigners ug business diri dapat 60% share sa Filipino and 40% sa foreigners...

Mao di sila ma-encourage mu-invest diri kay 40% ra man... And asa man ka makapangita ug Pinoy na makakaya invest ug 60% na gamay lang nang mga datu diri... Karamihan pa sa mga dakong business diri kay malls, food chains, and kanang sa beer like San Miguel... Then siyempre majority sa ila ma-hire kay mga sales people, clerk, waiters and other skilled workers... So asa nalang ang mga professionals ani...

We need more different types of business in order to accommodate white collar jobs... Like parehas sa Singapore na wala silay 60/40... Gamay lang kaayo na country but their economy is one of the strongest in Asia...
