pretty sure the jiu jitsu that we all know now is not the whole of jiu jitsu or maybe it's just the tip of the iceberg. the jiu jitsu that we know and are aware of these days are more inclined to MMA or the sports side hence we could tell that it could not be that effective in a real street fight scenario. but for sure jiu jitsu has still something up in it's sleeve just like traditional karate and taekwondo wherein it's practitioners before are so well-rounded and versatile and are even good in weapons.
In my part if your talking about street fight or thinking BJJ is effective during multiple opponents, my answer is yes you can used it even multiple opponents. But still the best defense is to run, and that what i did mostly all the time. Other info like cebu taekwondo check my site AFG Taekwondo Team - Cebu City Philippines
Well, yeah i learned Ju-Jutsu that is more Sports/MMA based to.....But thats not what i am using these days, i am using what was used by Bujinkan (Ninjutsu), where my instruktors where direct students of the Grandmaster Hatsumi and i also use the Jiu-Jitsu from Villasin Balintawak (i am a direct student of Grandmaster John Villasin, the son of GGM. Atty. Jose Villasin).
I know for sure some of my former teacher within Bujinkan did show me some things did was considered great secrets of the style, they even told me so and i later found out most within Bujinkan did not get that knowledge, i guess i was lucky with my teachers.....
